Wow, if that's true, that's awful. Can you imagine... ALL one's possessions.. reduced to ashes.

That's our friend EB (or al least someone under his unique form of mind control). I don't believe a thing he says.
If anyone knows Bobbie, can they confirm or deny this rumor before it gets out of hand?

Wow.. if that's EB making stuff up, he really is sick...

That's nothing. He's a horrible human being (and I rarely say that about anybody).
I've sent her an email. Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this and find Bobbie is well.

And the term "human being" is only marginally applicable, in his case.

Wow. If the troll suspicions are true, what a stunning degenerate. Have your butt make a reservation with my boot ASAP, please.
If the information is accurate, though, how awful. Perennial best wishes to Bobbie Short, whether the house burned or not. I've enjoyed her site perhaps more than any other.

The following was posted to Loren Coleman's email list on Wed, 29 Oct 2003
Word has come in from Ron Schaffner about some bad news from Bobbie Short, via email from her sister's house. Apparently last night, Bobbie's home was lost to the wildfires in the San Diego area. Although we are happy to hear she's physically okay, this must be a terrible loss for her psychologically and in terms of her collection on Bigfoot in California and hairy hominoids in the Philippines.
This is a tragedy we all can understand, and our sympathy to Bobbie.

I received this back from Bobbie:
QUOTE
No he isn't lying, earthquakes and fires are something we deal with
in California, although this was my first mandatory evacuation call, and
I barely got out myself because I just didn't believe it until I heard pine
trees exploding. The sound of a 42mph firestorm is deafening and incredibly
terrifying.
What is the link Brian, to where this is posted?
But I am okay, though traumatized and suffering
post traumatic stress syndrome when I hear sirens or low flying
helicopters....or explosions. Oct 26 was like a war zone up here
something I've never experience in my life. Otherwise, I'm fully
insured, and most of my valuables and bigfoot collection was
housed in a locked steel storage-bin container on the back of the
property back in early summer when I left for Central Asia.
I don't know where this is posted Brian, but you can relay this msg
that I'm far more fortunate than those uninsured families with children
and those who were severely burned and those that died because they
didn't get out in time. There simply was not enough firefighting equipment
to cover all of the raging fires.....2000 plus homes were destroyed, 3/4's
of a million acres burned and it is far worse than
what people see on CNN.......far worse. The stories are traumatic
sad and tragic..........truly, my loss is nothing.
Thanks for your note of concern Brian,
I'm resilient and okay, although enjoying medication......weeeee......

Sorry to hear it is true. If EB ( who started this thread I believe) thinks it is funny or some kind of victory, than he is sicker than we assume. It is terrible that these things happen yo anyone. My prayers to all.
