I live in Ontario, and this makes me want to buy a ghillie suit.
I didn't think anyone was convinced by those first few pics, it was obvious to me that there was a lot of polite holding of tongues.

For those of us wasting our day....it was pretty perfectly done.
First, we had all night to think about what that close up might look like, amping up the excitement.
Next, there is the delay, waiting on ol' Jim to row in.
Then a few prelim shots, so we would get even more excited about the one that was going to blow our minds!
Then the first one finally arrives, intriguing, but too dark to really tell.
Playing right into the hands of our hoaxmaster, board members manipulate the pic in photoshop the pic to reveal....wow!
An awesome, plausible and wise old face!!!!
It was really pretty great. I enjoyed every gullible minute of it!

Not only are the lips identical, but the indentions on the sides of the forehead are also exact, as is the nose and cheekbones and eye socket shapes.
Oh well. For some reason, I think this T man fella won't be showing up again.
After the GA faisco, now this.........here is a bit of advice to any future BF hoaxers.............
Use an obscure costume......... NEVER, I repeat, N E V E R buy an off the shelf, internet advertised costume, cause you know what that will get you.

That’s what I like about these forumns. You can sure learn a lot and develop a very critical eye over time.
Right from the start there were major red flags -
First off. He said he had Ontariosasquatch involved. If there was anything to this story those guys would have had this Bigfoot mystery wrapped up long ago.
Hoaxaustion started setting in for me when I seen the vocabulary Tomalinguinia was using. First he spelled the name of “his” lake wrong. The rest of his writings and his computer ineptitude did not seem to me like someone who would be perusing a scientific news site.
Next was when Jimf made a comment about peoples short memories.
Robo wondering why the oldtimers were staying so quiet. (they were letting us have our fun?)
His whole story had a creekfreakish tone to it.
Ahhh, that’s all. I’m pooped
You could also add that even though "Tom" was trapped on an island, and island that they knew how to get to, they were going to wait a few months to go back to look for him/it.

I'm gullible.
That's the only conclusion I can draw, because until the post of that mask, I was leaning towards this being credible, and made a few posts along those lines which I now regret.
Sigh.
Okay, that said, I still feel, as I said before, that it's best to leave unfounded criticism of the poster until AFTER they have finished posting OR there is some hard evidence (such as that mask). What can it hurt to wait a couple of days?
Also, I think it would be useful to try and figure out how this was done, and also to make not of the holes in the presentation and the story, as a yardstick for future events.
How was the scale of the creature faked? Was it the different camera angle, or was the human subject standing further back?

Arizona TJ:
"How was the scale of the creature faked? Was it the different camera angle, or was the human subject standing further back?"
One easy way is to position the human further back than he appears to be, and lean him close to a foreground object so he appears beside the closer foreground object. You can play some effective tricks on the finished camera image that way. Years ago, I did some creature models at a small scale and set them up by this method so they appeared full scale compared to me apparently standing beside them, when I was actually much further away from my apparent position. The camera's lack of depth perception makes this kind of "trick photography" among the easiest optical tricks to accomplish. So this is one option for making the comparative human look much smaller than the "Squatch".
Not saying that was done in this case, just that it's one very easy to accomplish option to get that result, and could be how it was done.

I agree with your senitment about waiting to see......that being said I was excited about the photos. I even PM'd the guy to thank him for posting as I was worried that the criticism of the more jaded posters would run him off before he finished uploading photos.

Oh, well! I guess I gave him a good laugh.
I gotta say that his story about being scolded by 'the person on the phone' for overstepping his bounds was what got me hooked on the tale. I thought he was some teenager who was uploading his dad's/uncle's photos without permission. LMAO. *shrug*

I agree, no matter how this turns out I hope a lesson will be learned. I am a teacher, and I am always preaching to my students about the importance of unbiased research. Always sit on the fence while you study as much evidence as possible, and then choose a side based on your findings. Sometimes we are dissappointed with our findings, but in the end we are satisfied with our decision. We still have much work to do.

It would also be a great way to monitor and gauge BFF reactions without revealing the same user name as a monitoring account.

I only wish I could parse the foley sourcing for those bionic moves. It's one of my favourite sounds, like, evar.
