Got your camera?!
Gambit
I had my camera yes.
What a breathtaking area...Ross Lake.

Nothing happened, but I can't imagine a better place spend time if one is interested in this subject. I'll be going back soon.

Let's have a look at some pics then of the breathtaking area ?? wink.gif
Gambit
Here's a pic of a portion of the lake...none of the pics taken by my friends would do the area justice as much as this.

Not to be critical but that’s actually Diablo Lake, I would guess the image is looking southward from somewhere up on Sourdough. That’s Thunder Arm on the left.

We were in both areas, passed through Diablo lake, and camped and paddled on Ross lake...that's the best pic of the area that I could find on the net with a quick search.

my wife and i today made a huge loop from carlton down to wenatchee across to the road that cuts south right before leavenworth to cle elum, then across snoqualmie and over to sea-tac.

after our business at the airport we headed north to mount vernon and then east on 20.

the area pictured cannot be appreciated by that picture. it is just about the most fantastic area ive ever seen. the glaciers are still impressive even in august.

20 from mount vernon all the way to here in carlton is well worth it.

tomorrow im going up north of winthrop and see what the area looks like.

we have ran up libby creek road and all up to the west of carlton. beautiful country!

made a sorta mini-run up the twisp river, got tired as we had been up late the night before.

upon talking with a local coworker i find that we turned around waaaaaay to soon. he says the really cool stuff is a lot farther past war creek.

im having a blast up here in washington!
