I just want to throw my personal story about the Legend Of Boggy Creek. First of all, when my parents took me and brother to the drive-in, I had never heard of it. It was playing as a double feature with (I Think) Planet of the Apes. I remember walking to the concession stand and looked up and saw the movie poster. I thought what in the heck is this movie about. Well the movie started and as most of you know, who have watched it, the first thing you see is "This Is A True Story". As I watched this movie and it finally ended and the narrater was nice enough to say "Yes , He's Still Out There". I thought Oh My God. On the way home my dad was nice enough to notice that I resembled the young boy at the begining of the movie and how he had heard stories of the Fouke Monster when he was a kid. Well we got home and my dad ordered me to take the dogs outside to go to the bathroom. Well as I looked out the dark night time window , I thought "That thing has probably left Arkansas and is now waiting for me to come outside. Even though I was living in the middle of town with no woods around us, I knew he out there waiting for me, because I watched the movie. So, I went and got my little brother to go outside with me. I told him some lie to get him to go. You are probably thinking "What a lousey Big Brother!" Quick answer is Yes, I figured if the Fouke Monster was out there, I could run faster than my brother and it would get him instead of me. Also I could run into the house and warn my parents. If it got my brother, my parents were still young , they could have more kids. As you can guess the Fouke monster was not in my back yard. But he could have been!

"local cable"? oxymoron?
I wish they would run it here more than every ten yrs. I remember my excitement when i first saw it was going to be shown on tv for the first time since I saw it at the theater. Over 20 yrs later, it was going to be on at 2am on a worknight in '93 or '94. I stayed up to record this one-of-a-kind cult masterpiece in order to edit out the commercials and like the fact it's now on the 'net. I would never admit this in mixed co, but I don't believe I've ever anticipated another movie on tv as much as Boggy at that time. I had wanted to see it ever since it left theaters and VCR's and movie rentals did not begin catching on for another 15 yrs.
