I have never been a believer or a denier of sasquatch, and i had an encounter yesterday. I did a quick google search and found this forum. I figure it is the best place to tell my story.
I was hiking at Snowshoe Mountain on my way to meet up with some folks for a little geocaching. It was about 8:30am and it was cloudy and dreary. I was making my way down the mountain when heard something on another trail slightly above and behind me. When i stopped to turned and look I froze for a second, not believing my eyes. The creature turned from me and started walking the opposite way. I don't know for sure what i saw. I have come across alot of things in the woods, and there is nothing to compare this to. After a minute of internal freaking out, i hiked upto the trail where it was and found no further evidence. I did get a quick video clip of whatever it was on my camera, and a friend edited this together for me.

What do I see...? Video editing software and frame over frame masks.

It doesn't look like Patty to me? If it is they've modified the image somewhat. I do think it's been edited together, but I'm certainly anything but an expert when it comes to video.

Were you able to get the copyright holders explicit permission to use that image of Bob..........*ahem*......Patty.......... before embarking on your quest for attention?

Awful short video of such rare opportunity to film bigfoot. Must have ran out of film as did Patterson Grimlin. Or maybe used the same film. Obvious hoax.

I can assure you the footage has not been altered in any way, aside from being slowed down and enlarged. The video was taken directly from my camera into a friends computer. Looking at the Patterson film i can see the similarities that would raise the skepticism here, the two creatures seem to move the same way. But i assure you they are not the same. Surely someone here can compare, or layer, the two images/films side by side somehow to see this.

I did a little google searching last night, and this isnt the first sighting in this area.

Why don't you go back and get more evidence? Why didn't you follow? Why didn't you take that camera and go to the suspected spot "it" traveled? You can't post a video like that without the kind of response it's getting.

bbovin; thanks for the vid. Not everyone on this forum thinks it's necessarily a hoax and I'd like to encourage you in telling us a little more if you can. Also you want to google up BigFootResearchOrganization, commonly referred to as BFRO, where you'll find a group who are less skeptical than the first few responders you've encountered here who may have been a little quick in jumping to conclusions. It comes in part, presumably, from the frustration of having ones expectations doused in the past. BFRO would probably be welcoming and interested in at least documenting your report and maybe connect you with their database to determine if what you saw is something that frequents the area.

looking in michigan..... As for why i didn't follow, I didn't MOVE for a good 5 minutes. After that, I did go up to the path it travelled, i mentioned this in my first post. But i did not see anything odd. No footprints, no other evidance what so ever. I then returned to the lower trail i was originally on and continued down the mountain, but never saw anything else.

Dogu4..... thanks for the info. The BFRO was also mentioned in that article i posted. I will look into contacting them. As far as skeptical responces, i fully understand and expected them.

I'd like to hear from Moregon on this one. I still don't think it's Patty, unless he's done some work on her.........

I am impressed with how you all operate on this forum. It's refreshing to see everything from amateurs to pros connecting and giving their impression on this particular video. For what it's worth...thanks! I believe it is definitely the Patterson BF, not that anyone gives a crap what I think. ;-)

Hoax. No Smell for starters. No evidence of its passage in the form of prints. It's too short too vague too perfectly in step with the fleeting glimpse school of hoaxing.

There are a lot of reports with no smell so that's not a problem for me. There are also a lot of reports with no tracks. The ground isn't always conducive for them. That's not a problem for me either.

My jury is out.

Doesn't look like Patty to me, the angle is wrong. Can't say it is legit, but I would like to hear more about it. I would like to see the entire clip as well... maybe we can get more info out of bbovin than we did with Truthbetold.

I'm going to move this topic to the Sightings Heading since that's where it belongs.

Smell and prints do not make a complete bigfoot sighting for me either, although I'm a bit skeptical about the video, I will patiently await
further developments.

The arms look funny to me. Granted you can only see them for a split second but they don't look at all natural. When I watched it, I was reminded of my youth at Halloween. When I wanted to be a pirate, my dad would take a can and cut a slot in the bottom and stick a coat hanger in it. That way I could slip it over my hand and hold on to the hangar, which gave me a hooked hand (like Captain Hook). Of course this also extended one of my arms and gave an odd bend at the wrist.

Anyway, the arms look similar to me, like they are artificially extended.

Cool and eerie smoke/mist in the video though.

Welcome bigny. How do you define an amateur vs. a pro? Number of posts...amount of time in the woods looking...number of "sightings".

You made me go back and look at the video a few times. I stopped it at 18 seconds and you can see the head is much lighter than the rest of the body, like it is human flesh. And you're right the arms don't look right, the length from the shoulder to the elbow, and from the elbow to the wrist are strange. The forearms are quite long... bummer I was hoping it might be legit, but not too bad of an attempt at a hoax though... much better than some others I have seen. Why can't anyone get clear pictures or video? Here is our campground, the car, the dog... omg what is that? Then the camera suddenly goes blurry LOL

hey researchers wow this definetly a very interesting new possible sasquatch filmfootage that definetly needs more research ehandsments etc done to it. maybe try to email or contact the people filmed this creature indeed. keep us updated ok. good evening bill

I'd also like to see the entire recording not just that clip posted on Youtube. It does appear, to me, that the appendage (forearm and hand) is inordinately long, and straight, which raises a flag for me. I'll reserve judgment pending any post of the entire recording.

At the 19 second mark it looks like it's wearing a paper sack over its head.

New member. Havnt a clue how or where to start a thread so sorry if this is the wrong place.

I was just thinking back on something me and my family witnessed about 20 years ago,probably longer. Three of us arrived home,me my mother and my brother. Me and my brother walked into the living room and my mother decided to turn the central heating up by the dial behind the door we just walked through. As i approached the televsion to turn it on, a perfectly shapped ord shot out from what looked like the plug socket,it was made up of what seemed like thousands of little sparks,it travelled towards my brother who was at the time doing some kind of boddy popping move and it seem to just disapear. Then my mother came into the room quite panicked and said something had just flown past her. It must have passed my brother and travelled through the living room door,but left no marks. I remember enquiring to my science teacher shortly after but didnt really get an explanatiobn. Im just wondering if anyone can shed any light what it could have been. Also when we tried turning the TV on, it wouldnt work. Lighting and other electricity worked fine and the TV and video player eventually turned on shortly after without messing with and circuit breakers of fuses. The ball of sparks was about 6 inches in diameter and was a perfect shaped orb.
