Squonksquatch
Throughout town there are several billboards with the words "He's Coming..." and a big footprint in some dirt. I can't read the fine print in the lower corner or the billboard, but I think it's just advertising info anyway.
Of course, I automatically think 'bigfoot' when I see it (so did my oldest daughter, who thought I'd be proud that she was a geek like her old man. Her friend thought it was a reference to Jesus). It looks like someone's attempt at faking a BF track. My thinking is a monster truck show is coming to town, with the Bigfoot truck showing up.
Has anyone seen the same billboard in their area before?

Is it about the Pope?

I believe it's a religious message.

Well, I thought it could be in reference to the "footprints" story. But I don't think so. The font in the lettering is pretty "harsh" looking, like a monster type font. And the pic of the footprint is definitely not a nice, motivational pic of a footprint in beach sand. It's in mud and just looks like it's supposed to be this big nasty footprint.
But, I could be wrong. Maybe a church is reaching out to the crypto crowd.
One of the billboards it's on is one of those tri-revolving ones that shows 3 ads and change every 10 seconds or so, at a major intersection. I'm guessing that's a good chunk of change to advertise on that, which makes me think it's a teaser for a monster truck show.

I did a google search for the term "he's coming" earlier and came up with a few religious related sites, but considering the added information in your above post I'd say you're probably correct.

Come on it's about the Pope and you know it.

I could care less about the Pope being here.

For the record.....I am not promoting the Pope or anything religious.

I googled He's Coming billboard, and the first thing I saw was Pope. Ok

"He's Coming" has been replaced with, "He's Back." The background pic is now a wilderness vista of lush pine. Not that great of a pic if you ask me, and I only got a quick glimpse of the billboard heading to work this morning.
I just know this is gonna be a letdown... rolleyes2.gif

Man that sucks. I don't even have a lousy t-shirt to give you.
I had done the same before starting the thread, by the way, with a lot of variations. Some results can not be posted here, I can tell you that.

I did the same thing the first day this thread hit the board and all I did was come back here.

It could be an advertisement for a local Radio or Television station.. maybe they just started carrying someone like Rush or Stern or some other personality. I remember years ago seeing a big black billboard.. and all it said was Supra is coming. The first thing that popped into my head was some big discount department store or something, but there was no signs of any major building going up. Then I thought maybe a new Gasoline Station.. but nobody seen any construction at all going on. Then about 3 months later the sign read Supra will be here next week! That was the last thing it said and the billboard changed to some other advertisement. I just happened to be looking through a magazine one day and finally realized what the hell Supra was. It was simply a local car dealer hyping a new model Toyota was introducing..

Okay, haven't seen a new billboard, but I did see a TV ad yesterday for "findthesasquatch.com." Seems that it's in conjunction with Kokanee beer promotion, which appears to be a local Spokane thing. Not sure if it's in different cities or not.
About as ho-hum as I thought it would be, but hey -- at least it is marginally related to sasquatch.
If you bother to type in findthesasquatch.com, the URL changes to something through KHQ I believe, a local TV station. Also, you will see a pic of what could very well be the worst sasquatch suit in the world.

OOOOOH Kokanee how I miss thee......I used to drink that all the time when I lived in MT, now that im in L.A. it's no where to be found. ranting.gif

Ah... click on the video located in the top right of that page and you'll see the answer. The Columbia Brewing Company located in Creston, BC Canada where they brew Kokanee beer uses a Sasquatch in their advertising campaign for their beer. They even have an eight and a half foot bronze statue of him carrying a case of Kokanee in his hand at the plant entrance.

Yep, they even used the PGF in one of their ads if I recall -- they zoom in and Patty is carrying a case of Kokanee.
And yes, the billboard has changed to the "see it, snap it, win it" (or whatever) game.
I guess this is better than the Sonics' mascot coming to town for Hoopfest, or the Bigfoot monster truck. But still, a little underwhelming. icon_neutral.gif
