Someone else here homeschools their kids too...Leeloo, is that you??
Stacy, I homeschool my five and six yr old. We discussed placing them in a private school this year, but couldn't handle the cost. One of the reasons we homeschool is that I worked at Oregon elementary schools and I couldn't believe some of the things that occurred there. I didn't want to put my child into that. There are some really great public districts here, do not get me wrong, ours is not. If we end up having to move because of the job situation, we will certainly take that into account.
I find that I do not fit in with any other homeschoolers because I homeschool for academic, rather than religious. The homeschoolers that do so for religious reasons, find it offensive that I am not using the latest religious curriculum. I also get frowned upon by the new-age type homeschoolers that find my curriculum is too rigorous. Then you have the rather main-stream homeschoolers who are threatened by the curriculum I use because it follows closely (although more rigorously) to public school curriculums. Shall I get into the anti-technology home and private schoolers?

sorry!!!!
So far it has worked great for us. The girls are reading on grade level, love math and with the program I use, we get science, history, and geography, which many kindergarten and first graders do not get.
I am taking the homeschooling situation year by year and will do what it best for the girls. I have heard rumors that Intel is thinking of opening a charter school and I would be very thrilled with that! Can you imagine all the cool tech toys they would access too?
This has been way too long. I apologize, but I am sure if I simply stated that I home school, it would have led to a bunch of questions and I thought I would just toss it all out there and leave it.
Now back to the KID!!!!!
If and when you submit to the BFRO, you must understand that we make every attempt to contact all witnesses by phone. I will not publish a report unless I have spoken with the witness first. Most of the report investigators I work with do the same. I will encourage you to leave your number and maybe a time to call, but if you really do not wish to leave a phone number. Please leave your email. If a witness does not leave a phone number or email, we cannot contact them and I pretty much guarantee the report will be tossed.
Good luck and be nice to your dad!
