"Hopeful" wrote to me asking me if I wanted to describe "my" bigfoot to an artist and was even kind enough to offer me some referrals. Thanks, Hopeful! Anyway, over the years I've tried drawing him, always hating that I couldn't capture him on paper. But, as time went on, with moves and such, the ones I drew as a kid have gone by the by. Some are probably still in boxes in my mom's attic (we live a few thousand miles apart and I AM NOT going to ask her if she could "please go look for my drawings of bigfoot" for me. Hell, no! She doesn't know anything about this!! And, gratefully, I'm sure my dad has totally forgotten that phone call from the grocery store, too!)

So, after my most recent nightmare the other night -- the night before I signed on here -- I started trying to visualize him again on paper. Cathartic, I must say. He's scary, but not as scary to me now as back then. Maybe I'm just getting inured! Oh well, I'm no Rembrandt, but I did my best. I told Hopeful and I'm telling you too that I'm hung-up on the cheek plates. I can't seem to manage to portray them exactly right. They integrated more with the outer corners of the eyes somehow. And the shading kind of makes it look darker than he really was. And I had a hard time showing that you could see his skin through his facial hair in places. And the ears weren't so obvious. Anyway, it's the best I can do this time around and really, I WOULD like to speak to a REAL artist -- but not just any artist -- who has also seen BF themselves because I really don't want to be treated like a weirdo. Know anyone?

I hope my upload attempt works! I'm no techie-type at all... here goes.

Actually, the way it appears here the hair isn't too dark.

I am amazed at your painting of "Big Foot". I am more amazed at how well you did with details on the painting. I noticed that you painted the BF with a very narrow Nose and bushy eyebrows. Sort of "very human qualities".

I like it .... you did well.

They're "people" -- I'm tellin' ya'! Really! That's why I just couldn't shake the feelings I had when I saw it. It was too "human" to think of as just a "monster", even though my child mind wanted to! I'm still scared poopless at the thought of ever seeing one again -- NO THANK YOU! -- but I know they aren't mindless animals! And they deserve respect.

Please sort through these sketches. A body and a face might just pop out at you!

This looks a lot more human than the creature I saw. I think this is being too romantic. It is a very nice picture though.

Great sketches. Thanks for the link.

This looks really human. Some reports portray them like this, others as more gorilla-like than human. I think there is a wide variance.

John Cartwright, pick the face or body you saw from www.thepaintedcave.com website and post it for us.

Wow! Very cool. A whole gallery of pick-your-own nightmare. I don't know guys... I wonder if this is really going to help me sleep better or not! icon_stressed.gif

Anyway, taking into account I'm sure that not all BF look alike, just as not all people look alike, I would have to say the closest artist's drawing to what I saw is #45:
http://www.thepaintedcave.com/img/pete/sas...as_v45_0107.jpg

The lips aren't right and the expression is just a bit off ("mine" had his eyebrows up in the middle) but overall, officer, that's the man who done scared the livin' bejeebies outta me!

To get a bit more exact, I "liked" the eyes and nose of #44...
http://www.thepaintedcave.com/img/pete/sas...as_v44_0107.jpg

...the head shape, lips and messy hairiness of #43 (yeah, what's with all the very nicely groomed primates offered at the mugshot gallery? do some BF use gel?)
http://www.thepaintedcave.com/img/pete/sas...as_v43_1112.jpg

... but none of these guys had the cheekbones or the "part" in their hair on the forehead. #50 came the closest for the cheek plates (but he's way to "monkey-fied" in every other aspect):

Pete Travers is a member here and at one time, he was asking for individuals who had close sightings to contact him about his doing a sketch. Might be worth a try.

The hair is pretty good on this one Tim and the way there's like no neck. "My" guy looked stronger, more solid, really thick torso and shoulders. The nose on "mine" wasn't so wide and eyes were darker and the cheeks were more pronounced, but this is "my" guy's puny 2nd cousin, once removed, if you know what I mean. There was more soul too. Thanks for putting this up, Tim.

I have to say, I had a tough time falling asleep last night. But instead of being freaked about dreaming, I was obsessing about the finer details of what I saw, like in an objective, homework assignment way. I slept dreamlessly. Cool. I've found a counselor who works with PTSD sufferers and I'm resolved to make an appt today and start working on myself. Hope she's not an idiot scoffer. **ho-hum** gotta' do what ya' gotta' do.

The poster who made that, and many other variations is nightwing. Amazing, aren't they?

This is the thread that has his various colorations, and even some different nose shapes!

Ok, I'm truly hating that big huge close-up that slowly resolves to something that even a non-sighter could have a heart attack looking at. GULP! Hate it, hate it, hate it!!! It's too real looking. It may not be exactly what I saw, but it's just waaaaay too close. I'm making that call to that therapist right now. I think I just peed myself!! There should be a warning label on that thread!! "View at your own risk"! Holy smokes!!

I hate to admit this......

But, while looking at those mug shots on Mr. Travers site - I think I recognized at least 3 past dinner dates. whistling.gif

I knew something wasnt right. teehee.gif

This is absolutly great.

One of my sightings looked similar to this, the creature was like a mix between peach/tan color.
Very neat!

Yeah, who's got drawings (or terrifyingly realistic sculptures)... come on... we wanna' see!

Hi Petite Pied..Bonjour.. anyways, I looked on one of the sites and I came across these two drawings it was the Oregon Bigfoot site by the way. It has artists' drawings of bigfoot. This one artist RobRoy Menzies had two drawings that stuck out at me. One was sort of similar to what you drew or painted and the other is of Patty Sass that he touched up. I figured you might find them interesting..

Well, this would be the one that would be closest, but still not perfect.

Le Petit Pied,

Where is your original post on your BigFoot sighting? I would like to read it. I can not imagine the traumetic effect a person suffers after seeing a BF. That "BigBoy" must really be scary. Can you imagine ... some people want to go camping without a gun. And to top it all, the BF is probably as big or possibly bigger than a KODIAK BEAR.

Melissa,

Gee I thought you had better taste than that. Come on girl. Were you on that Monster Quest TV show???? PM me if you were. Thanks

Wow! Those are actually... beautiful. Stunning one of the Patterson BF. Her mouth isn't like "mine", but then, "mine" was grimacing so who can tell.

And the top one's face has the cheeks goin' on! "Mine" wasn't so monkey-fied in the body though. More human-shaped, if not in grand proportion! Nice stuff!

Do you have the Oregon BF site link or name?

Here ya' go:

Camping? In the woods? That's fun? There isn't a bazooka big enough to get me to agree to go! If there isn't going to be solid walls of some kind -- forget it! And no big windows either, ok?

Hi Petite: I tried to look for a way to PM you to give you the site where I found those drawings. Anyways here's the site : Oregonbigfoot.com.

Le Petit Peid,

That is an incrediable story. It is amazing how you were able to see that creature. Amazing and very interesting.

You made one statement on your story. You stated that the Creature made some "DEEP" eye contact with you. What do you mean by that??? What do you mean by DEEP eye contact. Please define.

Thanks and your story is amazing.

It seemed to want to "communicate" to me that it didn't mean to harm me or that it didn't want me to harm it or something. It looked at me pleadingly. If you go back to the further posts on that thread, I went into some detail. I was thoroughly "debriefed" by the forum members, you might say. wink.gif
