This photo was attached to a news story about a mystery figure photographed somewhere in Washington State. It was on CNN.com for a bit. Unforetunately I lost the link. Apparently a couple of girls were taking some pictures and caught this. Has this already been covered?

The picture above comes from a News Story that is posted at YouTube Here

The two young teenage girls that took the picture claims they were walking along a river taking pictures above the river and around the trees there. The one that took the picture said she took the picture and then saw something in it. She showed it to her friend that was with her and she said it looks like a person. She then says they ran back to the house all freaked out, but the other girl said but you couldn't run, then the first chimed back in with yeah because of the deep snow. When they showed other people is when someone said it could be a religious figure.

The TV Camera is looking at the Display on the back of the camera as the girl is going through to find the pic that's being discussed, and the shot just before this one shows a house with it's lights on, so it was definitely a night shot, which means the flash was probably used, and the picture itself verifies that when you see the area directly in front of the camera, the ground is illuminated but quickly turns into darkness just beyond the haze. The way it's rising straight up from beyond the grass/weeds there I would guess it's a heat source of some sort. Possibly a deer holding tight, or it could even be their breath that was photographed. This was photographed during Christmas Week of 2007, snow on the ground etc.

Lot of giggling and nervous laughter during the interview, so it almost sounds like they didn't think too much of it, but an adult probably thought of getting them on TV. It doesn't sound like something they had planned on doing. Personally I see nothing that would suggest it's a real apparition or anything one wouldn't expect under the conditions that were present when and where the picture was taken.

As pointed out above, this is not Cryptozoology related, it's proper place would be in a Paranormal Thread but that's a topic we don't discuss here. Also because of the danger of this turning into a "Religious Discussion" due to the likeness between the figure in the picture and a well-known religious figure, which is not allowed here this thread will be closed shortly. Get in your last comments and no religious discussion.

Looks like smoke to me.

coverlaugh.gif Geesh........I love this site already! Wasn't there something similar to this, like in the 40's in England where two girls were walking on a creek bank and snapped photos of Fairies?

Or maybe not??

You can see the reflection of the girl taking the photograph at the bottom

Justagirl that was the "Cottingley Fairies" which they admitted in the early 1980s were hoaxed pictures. Nothing more than paper cut-outs and hatpins.

QUOTE
Finally in 1981 and 1982 Joe Cooper interviewed Frances and Elsie for an article in The Unexplained. Elsie admitted that all five of the photographs had been faked. Frances claimed that the first four had been faked, but the fifth was real. Both ladies contended they had indeed seen real fairies near the beck.

The hoax had been carried out by using the cutout and hatpin method as many people had suspected. Elsie had some art training and drew the characters based on drawings by Arthur Shepperson in Princess Mary's Gift Book of which Frances owned a copy. Using a sharp pair of scissors owned by Frances's mother, they cut them out and secured them to a bank of earth with hat pins. After the photographs were taken, they dropped the evidence into the stream and brought the camera back to Elsie's father so that he could develop the pictures. Though some had suspected Mr. Wright of being in on the hoax, the girls deny he knew anything about it.

If there's a reflection then it must have been taken through a window.
