Mike, does your organization have plans to install a game cam and see what you find?

That description came from a frightened 11 year old boy, who saw this creature for a second or two, at 7:20pm, in the car lights? Read the details this kid provides. Yeah, right.

"Lesser Primate"? They have a lesser primate in Alabama?
The writer considers the "Greater primate" to be what is commonly referred to as Bigfoot.
What differentiates the two? Size?
And if the lesser primate is not believed to be a Bigfoot, what then?

Yeah I agree with that. When I see reports like this the first words that come to my mind are "Yeah, right" Too much detail for the time frame, especially for a child. . .I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, just the way I feel about it. It's like the looked up detail from the Sasquatch handbook and filled in the blanks.

FWIW, I say don't toss the baby out with the bath water. Bad reporting/researching may or may not be indicative of bad evidence. I'd say what the hell, why not stick up a game cam? A 'money shot' would be a sweet reward! I know, I know,..the odds are better at winning the lottery, but just like the lottery, yah' gotta' play to win!

Good point, and I thought about that. However (I could be wrong) it sounded like the kid was the one got the very short glimpse. I'm sure the mother did help when the report was taken.

Sasquatch:
The location at which this animal has been crossing the county road is not suitable for a game camera because there are open fields on both sides. There are a few small trees and some brush in the fences that border the road and fields.

The boy was able to view the animal for serveral seconds as it walked in the open field on his side of the car. He was able to see it again for a few seconds after his mother stopped the car and backed up. She was still backing up and was unable to stop and find the animal before it walked over the small ridge and into the creek bottom. The boy had a good view of the animal, and gave a very good description of it. Tracks founds at the fence and in one of the fields confirmed there has been one of the animals routinely using that pathway.

The animal the boy described may be one of the smaller, more ape-like primates that have been reported by numerous people in this part of Alabama for generations. It is a near certainty there are two distinct types of primates in the South. Many long-time researchers have discussed and written about the differences in the animals. One of the compelling facts is that many people have seen the smaller primates, which are usually black, more ape-like and agrressive, after the animals reached old age and their hair had turned white and their bodies were decriped, yet they were still very small in comparsion to the larger reddish-brown primate.

One of the larger primates, over three feet taller and much more massive than the black ape-like creatures described in this report, has been seen on at least four occasions crossing or nearing another road about three miles north of this sighting.

In his book, "Bigfoot! The true Story of Apes In America" Loren Coleman presented a very good case discussion about the very real possibility of the existence of the two types of primates in the south. What are they? I am not aware of anyone that knows for certain what they are.
