Bigfoot Prank Almost Results in Tragedy

A prank almost resulted in tragedy for several Wiregrass young persons.

Authorities say they exploited fears of area residents concerning reports of Bigfoot being spotted near the Coffee/Geneva County Line.

A teenager wore an outfit depicting the mythical Bigfoot creature. He then carried a fellow young person on each shoulder.

Alarmed residents called the sheriff's department and several others armed with shotguns headed to where the prank was taking place.

The young people, ranging in age from 18-to-23, were given a warning.

However, sheriff's officials say those involved in any copycat incidents will face reckless endangerment charges.

I can understand teenagers pulling pranks, my kids dress like ninjas and run downtown chasing each other.. all the while filming the whole ordeal..
But to dress like bigfoot and pretend to be carring someone off?? those kids are lucky that someone didn't shoot them.. and what about the people who were witnessing this, how scary the must have been to think somebody was in mortal danger.. dumb idea..

Exactly!

Very dumb idea new_thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif ... It's a wonder nobody has been killed in situations like this.

It was an extremely dumb idea. They could've gotten shot. And, what if they'd never gotten caught? It would've been the biggest thing to hit the BF websites and message boards since Revatex.

Speaking of dumb.....a few years ago in an adjacent county, some kids had the bright idea of throwing a fully dressed mannequin off of an interstate overpass down onto oncoming traffic - at night in a 70 MPH zone. Caused a few wrecks and thankfully no one was seriously injured or killed. People thought it was somebody committing suicide or being thrown off the bridge against their will.

No, but I believe that was the inspiration behind their video.. you can see it on www.guba.com the name is "a Ninja down mainstreet."
My boys are the kids in the grey suits.. this was totally spur of the moment, they ran to wal-mart to find ninja type clothes..Not much luck so they made do with what they could... Harmless fun..
I would post a link, but I do not know how scratchhead.gif .. and the kids are not home to help..

It was dumb yes, but kids do dumb things. I hope people here are not more rough on them because the subject of the prank was more personal.

Ah, I see that some candidates actively campaigning for (Darwin Award) Election 2008 have chosen to drop out instead.

Still, I don't see anyone getting shot...well, except by fellow dumbasses. I mean, two uncostumed people were riding on each of the "bigfoot"'s shoulders? (Wow. That guy must be strong.) Why would anyone with an IQ in the triple digits shoot at that, especially with a shotgun? You'd kill everyone! (But at least you'd walk away knowing you'd saved them from being abducted by bigfoot and, if female abductees, perhaps having a gene for more highly attuned reasoning skills introduced into the local DNA mix.)
billgreen2005bigfoot
hey tim lmao wow very interesting above reply regarding this new situation. thanks bill smile.gif

Reminds me of a call i heard recently on Coast to Coast AM. A guy called in and related a story about how he dressed up in a gorilla costume and hid behind a tree alongside a highway at night. When he saw a truck approaching, he darted across the road. Well, the truck pulled over and a bunch of guys jumped out, grabbing shotguns from the rack in the back and yelling about how they were "gonna shoot them a bigfoot". They started running after him taking potshots. He said he felt lucky to have gotten away alive and would not recommend that anyone try impersonating squatch.
billgreen2005bigfoot
hey maguson welcome to the bigfoot forums wow great straight the point reply i hope people listen though...
TimMcmanus
So I wonder...if someone truly believed a person in a bigfoot suit was the real thing--or perhaps a bear--and shot and killed the guy wearing it (and it was, say, daytime during bear season and the guy had a hunting permit), what would be the punishment? Anything?
billgreen2005bigfoot
tim wow that would be awful way to go if you know what i meant lol good above reply
