# USAPhotoMaps downloads USGS aerial photo and topo map data from Microsoft's free TerraServer Web site, saves it on your hard drive, and creates maps with GPS accuracy. You can: Scroll and zoom
# See latitude/longitude
# See USGS Landmarks
# See TIGER/Line streets
# See elevation and contour lines
# Add waypoints, routes, and text
# Go to any address, populated place, USGS landmark, or lat/lon in the U.S.A.
# Transfer waypoints, tracks, and routes to and from most GPS receivers
# See your GPS location

I've used this for backpacking before to print maps ( including topos ) . It's fairly handy, and it's hard to beat the price, though the author does have a link to PayPal if you feel like donating to his cause.

Is there information on the dates the aerial photos were taken? Are they updated on a schedule?

I'm not sure ... the author's email is listed as jdmcox@jdmcox.com.

Some output from the application. It's the same area viewed as satellite imagery, and also as a topo. Both images were exported from the software and cropped in IrfanView32. I've had it overlay road information on the satellite photo. The maps I've shown here are at 4meter per pixel resolution ( though the satellite imagery can go down to 1meter per pixel res )
