ranshirl
Thank you all so much...... smile.gif I did work hard on it, and it means a lot to hear that you all like it. I am still working on it, I hope to be through with it soon. If anyone needs the addy or a sign to put on a site I will send it to you....hint! hint! laugh.gif

Good job I added your new site to my links page! biggrin.gif

Don't fret if you don't get reports right away, it took a while for mine to start getting them. Just hang in there! biggrin.gif

Cool, thanks for the link. I've added it to favorites, and am going to check it out this afternoon. I can't believe you got geocites to work for you. I've tried to use that service twice, and couldn't download more than half of their page that I needed to use to sign up.

Scout if you ever do get signed up, their pagebuilder tool is the way to go. It is so versatile, you can do whatever you want with it and there are no limits to the pages you can create. It is really iffy though, some days you can get in, some days you can't. (Most days I can't, but it is because I can't stay connected for more than 5 minutes at a time.)
After you start receiving the traffic you want, they start turning off your site for an hour at a time because they feel you are using too much of their bandwidth. Then they try to sell you your own domain through geocities. LOL
I won't buy the domain space from them even if I do get one!!! It would be somewhere else for sure! But in order to use my own domain I would have to have a web program like Frontpage and I don't. So pagebuilder is really good for amatuers like me! LOL

I have tried the other free webspaces like tripod, angelfire, trellix and others, but so far, I just haven't found a pagebuidling tool like geocities has with so many options and so easy to use.

Hey is anybody here currently working on making a bigfoot page to share their information with us?????

OK, while not exactly what you asked for (in fact, in no way what you asked for), I'd like to point anyone interested in learning how to make web pages towards what I used to learn HTML and a bunch of other stuff that goes on behind the scenes of most websites. Go here:

http://www.websavant.com/

They have two CD-ROM based guides that teach HTML. The first one (which they did not have when I started) is called Guide for Newbies and promises to be "perfect for beginners. Learn to design your own basic, high-quality, custom Web site in just a matter of hours." The second (the one I used) is called webSavant and it "teaches you how to write HTML code and design Web sites like the Pros!" After webSavant, I knew enough to make pages that didn't suck. I also learned enough to start using more advanced tools like Macromedia's Dreamweaver and Fireworks.

Anyway, slightly off topic, but highly recommended!

[size=18]Warning!! Warning!!

Learning HTML is almost like learning another language. icon_eek.gif

Well like shorthand, it IS like learning another language. It is good to have some knowledge of html though, even if you use a tool like pagebuilder, you can still learn the html to add scripts to your pages. But with just pagebuilder and no knowledge of html, you can make a page like the one ranshirl and I did on geocities. It depends how into web design you wish to become.

What was it HTML stands for Bipto?? I forget, is it "Hyper Text Markup Language"??? Something like that anyway.

Give the little lady a cigar!

While it is, technically, a programming language, it is also very simple to learn. That's not to say it can't be used in complicated ways! Most people don't give a rat's patootie and that's cool. However, if you're inclined to learn, webSavant is a great way to do it. You actually watch a movie of a guy's screen while he talks you through what he's teaching you. There's a version for both Windoze users and for those of us who have found enlightenment (i.e., Mac users ). Everything you need to learn is on the CDs. Super cool. 8)

I was just there. Way to go, Ranshirl! What I really like is that's is area-specific--NW LA. Of course you accept other reports of sightings too, and if I ever see one in Wharton County, Texas, 45 or so miles southwest of Houston, which is where I live, I'll let you know....don't hold your breath, though! biggrin.gif

Thank you Ella, I will take any report that someone gives me. I am just in North La. so I figured it was a good name for it..... If I get one I can't check out because it is too far away or something to that effect, I will ask someone else if they can maybe check it out. I work so it will be times I might have a little trouble doing it. I will do my best though to get to them as soon as I can and see about the sighting.... smile.gif

Thanks, Ranshirl, but like I said....don't hold your breath! My section of the San Bernard River is not the best for Bigfeet. Further downriver is perfect. My place is on the river at the county line of Wharton and Austin Counties, and right across the river, behind a strip of thick woods, is the country estate of a deceased rich man that his heirs use for parties and such. Chester Moore, Jr., is doing active BF research in East Texas, and then Craig Woolheater and TBRC over most of the state. But you can bet I'll let you know if I find any evidence, and them too! 8) laugh.gif biggrin.gif
