yikes. yeah, i've decided to move up there but i have a lot to do here first so i think it'll be at least a year before i actually make it.

when i decided to go, my first thought was about the bears because i have unresonable fears about bears. i often have terrifying dreams about them trying to kill me, so i hope to never see a bear in real life. pictures are bad enough, and i cant watch anything on tv that has bears. i've never had a bear experience so i really have no idea where the fear comes from, and its pretty new, maybe 5 years or so i've felt this strongly about it. although i remember feeling anxious about it anytime i've gone in the woods all my life.

then i remembered that bigfoot is there. i almost changed my mind about going. on my trips there, i went from almost refusing to be anywhere desolate, to driving my car 5mph on dirt roads with my camera on my lap, stopping here and there just 'knowing' bf was there. i never had the nerve to leave my car, lol.

so shasta. yeah. i'm about 15% too scared to go, but i will. i need to stop reading the forums before bed though. it makes it hard to get to sleep.

thanks for the link.....

So are you about 30% too scared now? Since the guy up in Alaska was taken out? Man, I saw a special with him on the Discovery Channel. That guy was just amazing. I barely have enough ball$ to shoo away the deer in my mom's backyard.(Just read that. No, not a kid. I work near her and visit her once a week.)

nah. i'm totally convinced to go now. i read about that bear guy getting killed, and it's very disturbing to me, but i dont plan to out cavorting with bears in the first place, so i should be alright.

it's more the bigfoot factor that has me freaked out about moving.

Go Gael...

Get out there in the redwoods at one in the morning and confront the
boogeyman. He's in your mind. Go with a friend at first, makes the
first trips easier. That is the one time of day you don't have to share
the woods with people, enjoy it...

Like many of us out here. I end up having "other" things in life taking priority and just don't get out for the 'fun' stuff. Hats off to the people that do get out.

I like the, get out with a friend idea. I'm thinking of ways to go "camping" with friends and visiting my brother, thus giving myself a chance to get out. If anything to get familiar with the animals in the area. I think mixing pleasure with pleasure will get me used to the woods. unsure.gif
