At the real risk of being laughed right off these discussion boards I'm going to post a dream I had of bigfoot people. I belong, and have belonged to a group of people that practice lucid dreaming and clairvoyance gained during dreaming for decades now. Laugh all you want, but my level of dreaming has rendered some very uncanny forecasts that have come true, as well as revealing hidden things and all sorts of strange phenomenon. If you don't believe this type of art can be honed by people, I urge you to skip onto another thread.

Anyhoo,

I had this dream last night and thought that it might interest one or two people here. So in that light I thought it would be worthwhile to post:

********

I dreamt last night of meeting with an older male Bigfoot. We communicated telepathically and he told me things of their culture. They are very passionate beings in every sense, being capable of extreme fondness or extreme animosity/rage. He had a funny way of referring to things. Commonly he would say, "it is the season of...(fill in the blank)". In other words it seems they think of their lives as very much reflected by what season it is...and thus that dictates what they do and thus it has become part of their linguistics. An example might be, "in the season of matsutake mushrooms we do this". Or, "in the season of new fir buds we do that."

Not that different from us but for them is seems way more central to their "culture".

This older guy told me he had a wife but he lost her (she died). Or as he called it, "she went away to the stars" (their expression for death). He was very bummed about it though it had been some time. He told me they held "marriage" ceremonies near creeks, or on "bridges" they made over creeks (big logs?). And about stars..he alluded as to how they are very aware of different constellations and have different names for them. The stellar field also ranks high in their culture.

We strolled for awhile talking about our differences when we came across regular people like me and you. He struggled to say something positive to me about my people. I got the feeling that in their culture they strive not to offend. I told him that he didn't have to gloss it over for me; that I knew full well that human society is insane beyond all other animals. He nodded quietly in agreement and only said that his people just couldn't relate to us on basically any level. It was his way of politely saying, "yeah, you guys suck."

********

OK, you can start laughing now. rolleyes2.gif

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. In your past experience with your lucid dreaming, did you find any of your dreaming to be prescient?
Silhouette
Yes. I'll give you two examples of many that have happened.

One, I dreamt of eating a delicious salad of corn with some crunchy red things in it. I strove to decipher what these sweet juicy red bits were. I woke up thinking they were red bell pepper, but I knew instantly that I was wrong...that they were something else I hadn't thought of. Minutes later the phone rang and a friend I hadn't spoken to in some time told me he just had to share a recipe with me that morning that he got from a friend. It was a recipe for corn salad...with pomegranite kernels.

It was delcious...just like in the dream.

More significantly...I dreamt that my brother would soon be very near the President (back when Clinton was in). I was visiting him just a couple of days later and we toured the military base where he works. I casually told him that he would be seeing the president soon, half joking, half serious. He assured me that Airforce One had not been on his base in decades, that I was full of it. Less than a week later after I retured home I got a phone call from my brother with an uncharacteristic shakey tone to his voice. He told me that Airforce One had just pulled up outside his hanger.

Numerous other dreams of a similar light have happened. Too many to discuss. But if you want more examples I can give them to you.

There is one, probably more, threads here about dreams that people have had about bigfoot.
Robert
Fascinating stuff! I think your dream about bf is probably right on the money. I have had some lucid dreams that came true also.
Dad
I've had some dreams that have come/been true......one when I was a kid that I had dreamt several times before I watched it play out in real life.......

Thank you very much for posting that dream....I'm very open minded and feel we have many abilities that are not used because of the lifestyle we (as modern humans) have adapted to.....

I also happen to agree with some of what the big guy may have said to you in that dream....all you have to do is take a good look around see the 'improvements' we've made in the world........
bipto
Interesting dream. Period.

Perhaps. It's a bitch coming back to work after a week in the woods. I'm just wondering where this thread is going. Have a dream with bigfoot in it? Join the club. Think that they're communicating with you in your dream? Back...away...slowly...
Silhouette
Yeah. It's not like anyone has reported that BFs communicate via the mind or anything.

And from there it would be one big crazy-arse stretch to imagine they could imprint anything into lucid dreams.

Silly me! coverlaugh.gif
bipto
If you think they communicate with their minds, you're at the wrong forum. Try the .net variety of this site.

It could be that you are at the wrong forum.

Ever consider that possibility? No, I didn't think so. You have no more rights to be here than me. Unless this forum is launched from a fascist country. I'm pretty sure it's base is in the USA. Given, our government does resemble a fascist one at present...but that's a topic for a different board..

Just my 2 cents...

No. Please.

Perhaps a clue that the content of the dream was likely internally generated? Occam's razor & all that?
Lab Lover
These ideas remind me he Carlos Castenada books that were popular about 35 or 40 years ago. The dreams were mushroom induced and concerned or were coached by a Yaqui Indian shaman whose name I have forgotten. Supposedly if you could will yourself to look at and see your hands in a dream, then you could control yourself and roam around in that dream space and go places . Sounds easy to find your hands in a dream but it ain't. I am open to this line of, if not research, then attention and observation. I think we should all pay attention and try to notice things like this. I would love to hear more.

Having said that, and I may be getting to a forbidden zone here, I reacted a little to this thread and will risk saying that I for one am not interested in BF because I am disappointed in the human race and expect to find something more innocent or pure in BF (I already can find that in my dogs by the way, any time I care to look). I simply think BF is a very rare crafty wild animal and I am intensely curious about it. I could state my response in stronger terms I guess, and address an idea that seems to underlie a couple of the posts. I personally believe that utopian longings naturally lead to unhappiness and themes of self-loathing. I think success in whatever you are after is best achieved by pragmatic and realistic means.

LL
Silhouette
I have no utopian longings and yes my dreaming is the same as described by Castaneda. We tend to be very realistic folk. Note I said that BF were very passionate. This also includes rage and anger....hardly utopian.

The "melt down" always begins with the first punch, not the second one. The first punch was the poster's suggestion that I go elsewhere. Returning the punch does not make me an aggressor, but rather a defender. Important distinction to make I think.

I just have one comment about the endless mindloop known as Occam's razor: new_thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

People like to kid themselves with intellectual games. In the end I just like to access knowledge directly. I do this via lucid dreaming. Other people go to the library and bury their heads in books. Which is fine and necessary too. But I like to keep an open mind. It keeps me young and happy, flexible. Variety is the spice of life and if some want to suggest I take a hike here because my views are unconventional, then they're doing this discussion board a disservice. People inclined to be truly sceptical will ignore what I write, or just read it and move on. Those that are afraid and therefore debunking by nature, will ask me to leave, ridicule me or whatever it takes to make the new imput to their personal island "go away".

I've seen this and done it all before.

Free speech does not apply here. This is private property. Therefore, I and the other moderators have the ability to limit your speech. If you don't like it, you can start your own forum (that's free speech).

What you interpret as a "first punch" was nothing more than the creator of this forum pointing out his chosen guidelines.

Damn I need to type faster!

Aggressor? Defender? I simply stated your views do not align with the majority of the members here and that you would be more satisfied elsewhere. I suspect we will know shortly which of us is being aggressive.

Hmmm. Then I assume he knows how to use the "ban" button.

Until then, I'll discuss what I dreamt about. If it is deemed "harmful" by him to the people who come here, then he knows what to do.

Its probably safe to say goodbye at this point.

Excellent. That makes this all so much simpler.

So now you are claiming you have the fountain of eternal youth as well eh? wink.gif

One of my most vivid & memorable dreams involved me defending a base on some barren moon against an invading alien hoard. I even managed to sketch one of the little devils the next day. Open minded or not (as I post on a BIGFOOT board rolleyes2.gif ), Occam's razor to me says that the fact I had read The Forever War years previously had perhaps influenced that dream more than any other highly speculative explanation.

Note - I've not laughed at you.

Hey, I read my Castenada. I rather enjoy the teachings of Don Juan, the Yacqui Indian shaman that filled my (seventies) mind with so many wondrous thoughts. Now, what did I do with those psilocybin 'shrooms? And where the devil are my hands?

Well... you can be certain it ain't bigfoot... more like RC Cola and MoonPies...

Maybe it was Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Carl looks kind of squatchy. (I was being a smartass myself). Although wasn't there a South Park episode that featured a Bigfoot-like creature that had Patrick Duffy for a leg?

It's actually a Tenacious D episode. Or even the Tenacious D movie. Magic mushrooms will induce strange dreams, trust me on that one!
