I got the same flyer, and it seems to cover not only cryptozoological animals, but also out-of-place animals in the Sunshine State as well. Florida has quite a panther population as well, even though they are not supposed to officially exist down there. Same with cougars. Of course, we do know that there are crocodile/alligator hybrids down there in the Everglades too, which would seem to be out of place but really are not. It looks like a fascinating book, and I may try to pick it up.
Hate to be the one to tell you this, But panthers have always been here and have always officially been here. Now they do show up in areas of the state where the state says they are not. But they have always been a official animal of Florida. Crocodiles also show up in areas where the stats say none should be.
Some animals are becoming a pain so many of them are running around now days. From say west palm beach down is the worst part of the state but the whole state gets a lot of animals that should not be here.
Around this area I have seen things like different lizards that should not be here to snakes and even birds that are not native to Florida. Where I live way back when would have been the north side of the everglades. They call it the Savannas Preserve State Park. Here is a page about it if you want to see it,
http://www.floridastateparks.org/savannas/default.cfmWhen I was young it covered a much larger area and was a great place for me and my friends to go camping, Hunting, Fishing and just playing. Still today even if the state will not admit it panthers as well as many other animals still are around here. The last panther I seen was years ago but I seen a bobcat just a few weeks ago.
