I used to have a classic bigfoot sound file(but lost it) Its from the late 60-s early 70's,i seem to think it was from washington state,of a screaming anguished howl-almost like a siren. As a matter of fact,I believe it was on the movie SASQUATCH,THE LEGEND OF BIGFOOT. And i believe I heard it on a couple other documentaries,it may have been recorded by some campers. If anyone knows which sounds i am referring to,please post the file or link here, thanks.

Actually I have a youtube sound clip of it,here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCNny9sDAXY...ted&search=

Its the sounds at the VERY BEGINNING OF THE CLIP!Can someone post the regular sound fle or clip of it here? Thanks,AND LISTENING TO IT AGAIN- I BELIEVE 100% THAT THIS IS THE SOUND OF BIGFOOT,Forget woodknocks and that kind of stuff,THIS IS NOT HUMAN!

Um. I ah. Not real sure how to break this to you but uh...
Southern Squatch
Like this, Bitter Monk: new_whistle.gif Bigfootmorf, that particular scream/howl IS human. In fact, it's Roger Patterson, of the famed Patterson/Gimlin film.

However, I will agree with you that it's extremely realistic...at least it sounds pretty much identical to the one I heard.
bigfootmorf
Southern Squatch,I HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE. Is this a secret that was revealed? I heard that it was recorded by campers in washington in 1972 and its on the Ancient Mysteries DVD w/Leonard Nimoy. Please, tell me about its origins,Thanks
Southern Squatch
Bigfootmorf, it was talked about here on this forum not too long ago. I'll see if I can find the thread/s about it.

Here is a link to a little info on the AIBR sight about it. AIBR info on Patterson yell/howl/scream

Here's a link to a thread that talks about it here on this forum. BFF thread

"A few further comments on my previous post on the Patterson tape. (1) Thinking more about what happened when I heard the tape, I am not 100% sure if Patterson said the tape he presented was recorded by him or by someone else. And I can not remember where it was recorded. But I just have a thought that this was not recorded by Roger"

this was a quote from billkirbywolfb, and i also read posts from BF2004.I dont want to start controversy here,BUT do we know for sure that patterson made this??? Is there 100% proof, was he recorded on audio or video saying he made it? I am a bit skeptical. Its like the old:

"Roger Patterson confessed on his deathbed that he hoaxed the Bluff Creek incident"

Its not true, but people hear it and repeat it,and its making the rounds out to the general public. That sounded DAMN good if he did really make it,and I just am not convinced he made it.As billkirbywolfb said above:

"I am not 100% sure if Patterson said the tape he presented was recorded by him or by someone else. And I can not remember where it was recorded. But I just have a thought that this was not recorded by Roger"

I can buy the part about the megaphone, because it almost sounds like a siren, and I believe sirens are blasted thru some type of magaphone. But his voice is so powerful, and steady,it doesnt break at all,I JUST DONT KNOW! I do know for a FACT,because I just watched it today, that on Ancient Discoveries w/ Leonard Nimoy, they sate that it was recorded by campers in 1971 in washington.
Southern Squatch
I have no idea about the history of it, other than reading on the AIBR site. I'm plenty comfortable in thinking that Kathy or whoever put it there wouldn't say it was Patterson if they weren't sure. I watched the clip on youtube of Ancient Mysteries just a little bit ago, and you are correct that they did say that.

I think evryone is in agreement that no matter what the source, it sounds pretty good! It is the best I have heard.
tbuz
do a google search on "jeez.wav". It took me 10 seconds to find it. It may be a fake but it sounds real and if I heard it in the wild i am sure I would soil my pants.
billkirbywofb
Let me address this again. The audio tape I heard at Yakima Valley College when Patterson gave his demo in 1966 TO ME seems different than the sound that has been accredited to Roger. I THINK Patterson said that he did not record this particular tape. Two problems with me being exact on this (1) It was one heck of a time ago, and I'm becoming an old man. (2) At the time I was the student union building student manager. And if anyone needed an extension cord (as we did for Patterson's recorder) I had to get it. So there was times I was out of the room. Or doing other things. Plus when Roger was playing the recored I was about a dozen feet away looking (with awe) at the casts he brought down. So all I can give is what I thought I heard him say.
bigfootmorf
Billkirby, thanks for chiming in. Yeah, 40 years ago is a while so I understand your memory not being clear. As I said before, it sounds really authentic if its fake, and if it is fake,Patterson or whoever actually made it did a hell of a job.If i was in the woods camping and I heard that,as another poster just said,I might soil my pants!

By the way,I have never seen Bigfoot, but one night about 18 years ago or so,i was walking across the yard towards the hunting cabin i was a member of,and about 50 yds or so,off to my right in the woods-I heard the loudest most UNGODLY scream/roar i ever heard. I was with a buddy, and I remember like it was yesterday,we looked at each other and just sprinted for the front door of the cabin. We both hit the door so hard we knocked it off the hinges-no exageration! The guys inside all jumped up saying what the f$#& and we were scared shitless. We both had unloaded guns in our cases that we were carrying at the time too.Alot of good they would have done us,huh?

Thats a true story! I dont know if it was bigfoot or not, but, ive been hunting in the woods pretty much my whole life, and I never heard anything like that before or since. The cabin was located in the Pine Barrens of South Jersey, which is where alot of the NJ bigfoot incidents are reported.I still can hear that sound. It was like a roar/scream like a cross between a bear and a mountain lion.It was kind of loud, but nothing as loud as the recording in question here.

It was this scream played on CoastToCoast.am with George Noory that spiraled my life out of control delving into the BF phenomenon.

Bigfootmorf, I agree whole heartedly that this recording spooks. I can say the initial screams could be human made, but the growling at the end of the recording really has me puzzled.

It is similar, but not the same as the "In Search Of..." audio, unless it has been altered.

But the pitches are the same. Key of B flat I think, but I'll have to check it.

I don't know what to make of this audio recording except to say I'm here because of it...to many's chagrin. It's the freakiest!!!!

Check out my dormant website which still works at this link:

http://www.chubsworldopinion.com/

On the right side of the home page, click BigfootsMarching and you'll hear a tune I put together of numerous recordings spanning many years that are able to match the music. I simply listened over and over to the calls as best I could, and then found the notes and chords to mimic the music. The purported BF recordings came first. After hearing them, I noticed similarities in pitch. So, I made a tune that just mimicked the pitches I heard of the online recordings with no alteration of the recordings in pitch whatsoever.

I said this before in a previous post years ago, but the vocalizations in these recordings sing in the same key.

I find it fascinating.

Hope you enjoy!!!!

The kicker to me is the Australian recording of a purported Yowie. That recording was supposedly not made on this continent, but made half a world away on an island.

The recording ends with the bloke saying "perfect".

The recording is in the same key as the Ohio howler and the "In Search of... dude".

Hello Sierra Sounds. Audio evidence might be worthy of attention.

But what do I know.

I don't make a dime from the site. So, I ain't yankin' chains. It's all for fun and discussion. Go there, listen, and then let the games begin.

Vut a country! Yak yak yak.

Heres a link to a podcast where Larry Lund also says that sound is made by Roger Patterson:

I still really dont know, that sound is great if it is manmade. If not,???

I guess I will be the voice of dissension on this and say that I personally didn't think that sound recording was very good at all.
I think the coyotes did a much better job of making me believe that we actually had a sound recording of a Bigfoot. ( Before I knew it was the coyotes making the sounds.)

I'm not an expert or anything, but I heard somthing similar outside my house. I'm still in debate about what it is. Does anyone know if there are birds that make howling noises?
Southern Squatch
I'm certainly no expert either, but I've never heard a bird make a sound that was anywhere near close to the above referenced howl/scream...and I DON'T want to either!!! icon_stressed.gif icon_stressed.gif

I do work in audio/video and have for over a dozen years. I also have heard this recording since I was young. My inclination is that it is man made as there sounds like so much reverb or echo like it was recorded in a bathroom or something. But I could be wrong.

That said, the middle portion of the recording is almost EXACTLY what my best friend and I heard at my grandparents house in a remote area of Washington State in the 1980's. I'm very familiar with the sounds of coyotes and this howl/scream was not a coyote. It was very loud and came from a nearby hillside. Upon hearing the sound my friend and I paused and I said, "You know what the F--K THAT was!!!" We didn't hear anything more that night. The next day when hunting we went to the area where the sound originated. The ground was too dry for any footprings but we did find a dirt bank where something large and heavy broke the dirt free and slid down the bank.

Proof of anything? No. just interesting.
