Im not seeing a tail actually...looks to be its ass end to me, slightly raised up. The hair color seems lighter on the back giving the illusion of a tail. Its way too hard to tell but it looks very silver back like to me. The girth and movement are unlike any dog I have ever seen, even with a fur cover over it. This animal does not seem encumbered to me. Movements seem natural to whatever it is. Just my observation and by no means conclusive.

Revisiting this thread,...Y'all i have had chows...And from this movie it seems to me you would have to have at least six chows together to make this creatures size? And its running motion reminds me of a cheetah??..Do bears,Chows run like cheetahs?!...Is Goob way off base here?

I wanted a few opinions from y'all about this film. I have had chows, many of them...and it seems from the footage you would have to have at least six large chows together to make this creatures size?..But one of the things that struck me was the similar running motion to that of a cheetahs?...Do bears and dogs run like cheetahs?..Am i way off base here?...Just asking scratchhead.gif ..Peace..Goob

I do not know what it is in the film?...Does not look like a bear to me..And it does not look like a chow dog....Gorilla-ish features perhaps...But i have never seen a gorilla run like that(reminded me of a cheetah?...That is all i am saying!...G

I believe it was an unintentional hoax a "Boggy Creek" style homemade film that was put on a shelf and in a trunk and forgotten by it's makers. It has been coined as "The Blair Dog Project" by some and personally I agree, although there are some who maintain it's a person in a suit.

Could be a shelved blair dog movie...But NO WAY is that a dude..or woman in a suit!

The Gable Film is quite strange... Creepy to say the least. The thing that bothers me is that the teeth or mouth look fake or fabricated in the end. Throws up a red-flag for me.
dogu4
Dog in a suit.
It would not be the first time people have put costumes on animals. I once saw a little movie of adelie penquins with little nazi armbands bumpin into each other in a rookery...I almost hurt myself trying not to laff because it was so funny and so disturbingly wrong. And I know that if I ever found myself living near a penquin rookery again I'd probably try to recreate that bit of cinematic history.

I've merged the two threads on this wonderful piece of video journalism.

I've staked out a minor local shopping mall, one that the entrances could be sealed off, the zombies within dispatched, and sweet life thenceforth guaranteed. At least so long as a bad-ass biker gang didn't show up.

Oops, George Romero seems to have envisioned this back in the late Seventies!
damndirtyape
Might just be something from his new movie.

Were there any wildlife African Safari drive through type of parks in Michigan in the '70's? It looks like a male baboon to me.

World War Z anyone?

By the way, the zombies moved way too fast. Obviously fake! coverlaugh.gif
damndirtyape
Maybe fast but heck... they even got them on thermal! And the bullets from the weapon isn't even fazing them.

Best I remember, you gotta shoot zombies in the head. wink.gif

I think given the height of the ground of the camera in the final "creature" scene, it's very hard to determine the size of the creature, with the camera so low to the ground it probably makes the subject look bigger than it actually is, also there is very little scenery in the shot that allows you to gauge the size of the creature, there is little point of reference to accurately estimate it's size, it could be anywhere between the size of a Grizzly or a large Dog.

Bear with me.....I'm thick...... scratchhead.gif

Long way around the barn.....

Has it ultimatly been proven (admitted) as a hoax film or not?

(sorry, I get easily distracted by zombie talk.....night of the living dead always gave me the heeby geebies as a kid)

Well to me it runs just like this video of a "creature running from a tree line".

Just the way it moves seems similar in comparison

This shows snow mobiling, a dog and snow, the lady and her truck, the drive and animal attack. The film was shot over a period of months.

This is called Gable film 2 and the black haired lady has been eaten. This is pretty graphic.

A real polished version of the events with a picture of the film maker.
