On another site i frequent there's an interesting 27 page thread about BF and one of the posters claims that the BF he witnessed moved on all 4's like a gorilla.
Fast and powerful, he equated BF with the speed of a chimp with the power of a gorilla.



any opinions on this subject? Everything i've read about BF has made them out to be bipedal...

No, they're most definently bipedal. I'm gonna trust the tens of thousands of reports that say that.

Was this guy reporting from the deep south? Might've seen a skunk ape. That could be quadrapedal.

I've read reports and taken reports from people who report both. I'm not discounting that they may go down to all 4s when they decide to. I've also talked to someone that I trust who says that he witnessed one of these animals belly crawling. IMO that is the one thing that I've been told that just spooks the heck out of me.

I agree with Jaylee, I've also read reports that also mention the quadraped stance opposed to bidpedal. As a matter of fact if you go to the thread "Paper Chase" where I took a look at 770 Bigfoot Reports you'll see I came across 11 Reports that mentioned he was in fact observed running on all fours. A small percentage in comparison however unique enough to warrant attention. I think if someone was going to hoax a report, they'd attempt to make it fit the generally accepted description of what bigfoot appears like and acts like, not report something totally out of character, which being a quadraped would be. So I would guess one of two things were happening in those situations. Either bigfoot does drop to all fours on occassion, possible to become less visible as well as travel faster or possibly they misidentified a bear. So in regards to those reports it's a bit rare but not unheard of.

I've been reading "Rainforest Sasquatch" and it mentions some of these issues directly or indirectly. Some reports seem to show bigfoot imitating a bear, where the observer does a double take and realizes they are looking at something else. All of the aquatic aspects of the sightings were also interesting. They were reported to swim very well and use their feet like flippers. Based on the overall descriptions you get the feeling they could move in a quadrapedal manner if they wanted to, no problem.

I agree Morgoth and maybe they've learned (if they have that capability) over time that dropping to all fours leaves them undisturbed by people who could mistake them for a bear. This may also be the reason why there could be far more sightings than reported because if people glance their mind says bear and they don't give it a second thought in the instances where it occurs in bear country. If you get use to seeing bears on a regular basis, most people don't sit there and intently study it, just like those of use in agricultural areas don't pay a lot of attention to pigs and cows. A glance says pig or cow but we don't take the time to see if the patterns of their hair is different than the next and how so, or maybe if their nose is slightly longer etc etc. We basically become blind to common things we see. Sort of like when you buy a new car and the day you buy it you suddenly see another hundred of them running around even though you've never noticed that make and model before.

Getting low to remain hidden makes sense. It also makes sense when climbing a very steep slope. When I here someone say it got down on all fours to accelerate away at high speed, that is when my already skeptical mind thinks someone is making up stories or is mistaking them for something else.

Like the Gorilla walks on all fours an in moments of threat can go to bipeadal to put on an anger display, maybe the Sas normally walks on two but goes to four occasionally to move but yet stay hidden. Other apes do some of of each no matter what they are considered.

The person making these claims is from south eastern Oklahoma; alledges to have made contact and visual sightings on 'many occasions' with these creatures.

I think the GCBRO reports alot of quadrapedal bigfoots with snouts, I mean bears, in their research area.

I think SquatchCommando is probably correct on this one. Humans walk on two feet, crawl on their hands and knees, and even on their bellies when necessary!

Here's a couple of old stories that report beings on "all fours" as well as standing up on two legs...including a specific mention where the witness indicates that they're comfortable doing both. I think I've also read stories of them "springing" or using their arms to leap.

If bigfoot is omnivorous, don't you think he would spend a fair amount of time on all fours foraging?

i too have heard stories of bigfoots running on all fours, maybe its like with bears and stuff who can run as fast
as a horse almost for short distances. they can get a burst of speed for a minute or two, they probably only
do it in rare instances like hunting or escaping maybe or to rest their legs or hide.maybe not all prefer this
more primitive effect and a lot of them dont do it much or at all and plus different food areas might dictate
different habits. a place where vegetation and herbivorous behavior is needed is different from having to chase
down other wild animals or whatever.

There were 3 consecutive reports last year from different parts of WV on another site where the witnesses claimed that the bigfoots either were first sighted on all fours & then stood up & walked away or visa versa. So on my website I refer to them as primarily bipedal.

It's past 27 pages now.

Definitely an interesting thread, although not always endearing to forums such as this.

Some fascinating stories, some almost believable.
