I haven't posted in a while - but I've been working on a big project. I don't think it's a secret that I'm a skeptic - but I also love to talk about monsters.
I've started up a podcast to talk about all kinds of cryptozoology with a heavy science focus.
http://www.monstertalk.org is the URL. I hope you'll give it a listen. We did two Bigfoot episodes to start out, but will be doing sea-monsters next.
Nicely produced shows Doc! I will make a habit of listening to them in future as you release more. Thanks.

While some will decry certain generalisations made as unfair or not entirely representative of the pro-creature side of the stories, but there are many other podcasts and media out there that offer that point of view, so while I sometimes think you've glossed over an issue that desrves more debate, I understand that you also don't want to get mired in every technicality or grey area. I think you guys have done a pretty darned good job so far of staying scientific, even handed and respectful without falling into the scoftic trap that others have in the past. It's really nice to hear these subjects talked about in a scientific way. Please keep it up.
While I personally lean toward the root of the bigfoot phenomenon probably being a flesh and blood creature, I think it's vital that the quest for evidence be handled and talked about in a scientific manner, or else we're really just wasting our time and that of others. I applaud you guys for doing that in the shows that I have listened to so far. I hope that continues as you move forward. I have listened to other skeptical shows in the past, but often they just start slagging off those on the other side of the argument, which is not helpful either. You guys haven't done that, to your great credit.
I agree that as far as Bigfoot goes, there is no evidence that is scientifically compelling on its own, and even taken as a whole, the picture is annoyingly missing some important pieces or we'd have this solved already. It's the up close and personal sightings by extremely credible eye witnesses that keep me interested this field, because that's stuff that, while admitedly scientifically worthless, is harder for me to dismiss. With these kinds of witnesses that same anecdotal evidence, if offered in court during a trial, would be considered expert testimony. I'm talking about the kinds of very close encounters where there's just no chance whatsoever of a misidentification, by folks like rangers, police or military, even biologists. These cases do exist. I'd love to hear you guys discuss that as it's one of the most intriguing aspects of the mystery to me personally - if those people are somehow mistaken, then what are they seeing and how?
Thanks and keep up the good work. I intend to keep listening.
