Hi all, would like some insight if possible. Have found a small number of reports that associate a click clacking sound with these things. Husband had a sighting that I posted about back in the early 70's down in south Fl. but there was no noise associated with his sighting. We had some strange occurences happen at our property in north Fl. Had us spooked. Had researchers out and some sign was found, teepee markers and arches on property behind ours, also two prints not large, maybe a size 7 in a womans shoe but the shape was odd, extremely curved, the prints were actually found by a friend of ours who had attended a cookout on our property the night before when everybody got "spooked" by something screaming, it was also heard walking through the underbrush, husband and friend tried to follow it through the woods but never saw it. That happened probably 3 Octobers ago. Not a large cat. Other things prior to that and afterwards through February. During that time period we were setting out a voice activated recorder. Got a sound right up close to the house of something making a click clacking sound, had played it back to one of the people at the cookout and he said that he had heard the same sound that night, but we never heard it. The recorder was set out at maybe around midnight and retrieved from the open window sill at 4am. You could hear whatever it was messing around with the stuff outside the window on the ground, this window was closest to the back adjoining property, the master bathroom, we would set the recorder and close the door and then close the door to the bedroom so that no inside noise would be picked up, we slept in the living room with window cracked so we could hear the dog if he went off. The dog absolutely hated whatever it was. We had no more problems after that February through October of last year and then it started in again, was advised to light the place up around the house and that did put an end to it. Have moved recently and leased out the property, did not move because of what was going on, but due to work relocation. Nobody can tell me what that sound is related to, I had posted on other boards and one person (controversial) made a wave file of the copy I sent to them and said it would be listened to by others but never heard anything back. I have been told that pig and bear can make a clacking noise. I have a pot bellied pig that was kept in a pen no where near where the recorder was, but I have never heard her make a sound anywhere near what this sounded like, there is also a noise before and in between the click clacking that at first we thought was a problem on the tape but it is only during the episode of sounds and nowhere else on the tape, it has a rythm to it. I know that there has been hoaxed sound tapes but this is definately some type of animal or bird, my husband scoffs at the idea that it is a type of bird because of the time of the recording, said birds roost at night and there is no way it is an owl. Need to know how to add the file wave to this post to see if it can be id'd and being that the wave file was made off of my copy of my original tape if I would by breaking any copy right laws because someone else made the wave file.

I can't give you any insight as to the sounds, but I have to ask (since I'm in north Fla now), if you don't mind, where in north Fla was this?

Painthorse,

Interesting stories. You should be able to include the wav file with your post as a file attachment. Just browse to find the file and click on it. It should then be attached to you post. As far as violating any copyright laws, you're not. The original recording was made by you therefore do what you want with it. Good luck.

Hi Painthorse,

Interesting story. Can you describe what the teepee markers and arches look like (size, shape, construction, etc.)? I've stumbled across something like that next to the Appalation Trail. I found it odd, so I'm interested if it's similar to your findings.

This was in Marion county. It is posted on the bfro and gcbro sightings database. There are photos on the gcbro report I believe of the markers and arches and print. I do not remember if there is anything on the bfro report. Will try and add the file now. The interesting thing is that my dog HATED whatever it was and on all the tapes that we had the dog would be going ballistic. The beginning of the tape has the dog going off but during the click clacking noise, the dog was silent. Whatever it was would have been in direct view of the dog.

huh.gif I may have heard that wav file, but I'm not sure. unsure.gif I have heard a recording of that sound, but I was under the impression the recording I was listening to had been made by an individual who was on a camping trip somewhere. unsure.gif

blink.gif It's a strange sound, that's for sure! blink.gif I have some ideas of possibilities, but I'd like to hear your recording, and maybe do some research, before I offer any suggestions. smile.gif

Am I correct that you made these recordings between October and February? If not, what time of year was it? The time of year is important because animals make different noises at different times of the year. They can also be active at odd hours, depending on the time of year. cool.gif

I'm looking forward to hearing your recording. cool.gif

Kisal, the recording was made in November. I have been trying to add it. When I hit browse, I add it and then open it and then add reply to post it. Tells me that the page is unavailable and to try to refresh. will keep trying.

Paint, the file may be too big for you to attach. Try to email it to me at brian@bigfootforums.com. I'll attach it then.

I'm not sure of what sound your refering to ..
but bears and sasquatch chomp thier jaws when nervous. It makes a popping noise or a clacking noise.
Would love to hear the wav when ya get it up smile.gif

I would also like to hear the sound file.
Bears can click or "pop" their teeth/jaws when upset, and there are all manner of intersting insect sounds out there. Beyond that, I have no idea, but would be interesting to hear.

Hi again, Painthorse.

I went to the GCBRO report to look at the pictures but they wouldn't load. The teepee formation that I saw was about 2 1/2 to 3 feet high and maybe 3 1/2 feet long, with some leaves stuffed in between the upright branches. It had been there for a fair length of time. This was in the middle of a state park with no residents for several miles so I'd be surprised if kids made it, and it is too small for an adult to crawl under. Of course, it could have been made by either (kids or adults) but I'm trying to determine if there's any similarity between this formation and your formations. The conclusion I would draw if there are similarities would be a possible shelter for young or infants. If there are no similarities I'd assume it was probably made by young kids or a hiker desperate to escape from rain. There's a covered shelter less than 1 mile from the location, so I tend to discredit the hiker theory. Better to hike for a while longer than to stay out in the elements. That leaves me with kids, but like I said, the closest houses are a few miles away.

Just wanted to let you all know that I have held off posting the sound file right now due to the request of researchers. I am not being evasive or playing games, am just really grateful that someone is going to try to ID it. I had tried on and off since I got whatever it is on tape to get someone to give an answer and am sincerly grateful to this board for the interest, wish I had known this board existed back then. The worst part of not knowing was not seeing what made the sound. Tried to do elimination of the local wildlife, coyote, fox, coon, possum, pig, bear, bobcat, panther, nothing seemed to fit. Even asked a vet experienced with exotics, if he would listen to a tape I had and he kiddingly asked if I thought I had a skunkape on tape. Needless to say I backed out of that. Did not see it, just have to say I do not like not knowing what it is.

Shorebreak, the sticks were pretty close to the same height you described but there was no green life left to them. When you stood next to it and looked up at the trees surrounding it, there was no way that those branches could of have just fallen that way, but did not look like anything could go into it. There were also many arches in the area, but I think the arches in my area are not related to anything because there are soo many of them, most of them are spindly looking young oaks and just look like they bowed over from their own top weight.
