Well thr trip into the six rivers national forest and to bluff creek was fun except for that I started to get sick after the first night out there it was so damn cold it was also alot of dew formation at night so you felt even colder we made base camp at the Patterson Gimlin site and did our equipment check and had dinner I went to bed kinda early because I had watch from 0400 to 0600 at around 0300 I had a bear try and get into my tent but I scared it off by making some noise during my watch myself and a team member named tom were up together and at around 0500 we heard a vocalization but it was coming from way up the canyon it was just one of those whoop style sounds we hiked up the canyon the next day about 2 and a half miles and while it was an awsome site to see this very hollowed ground in our field there was just nothing going on it was dead quiet all day I was feeling pretty poorly at around 1300 so I decided to call it a day and told the guys I was heading back to base camp and most likely on home from there so I walked by myself this time all the way back to base camp and never heard or saw a thing the only thing that was kinda wierd was that the team leader Ian's truck door was open when I got back to camp at the time I thought that Ian just left it open but after he got home he asked me if I had opened his door when I came back to base camp there was nobody around down there with us so I do not know how that door got opened well I know it has been rather boring this is the normal trip into the field and its not always filled with excitement. ...the only thing that was kinda wierd was that the team leader Ian's truck door was open when I got back to camp...

You know, sometimes while you're out looking for them, I hear the Sas will reprogram all your radio presets just to be ornery! Gotta watch out for that... icon_razz.gif

GreenRogue:

Give us your assessment of the roads into Bluff Creek.

Is a 4x4 required or can Paul's VW camper make it all the way in?
GreenRogue
all of the roads are really good you do not need a 4X4 to get into the area the road down to the patterson site is a little steep in places but I drove down it with my toyota truck and its not a 4 wheel drive so just take your time due to the roads are all dirt after you leave 15N01 they are all old logging roads but very easy to drive on. That sounds great... thanks.
Streamrunner

I'm sorry I wasn't there to witness your accomplishment. Suffering from a bout of Cellulitis... have to keep my leg elevated the majority of the day.

Gee, you'd think Brother Bipto would award something to us. icon_really_happy_guy.gif
Streamrunner
Well I hope that gets better fast Tug. Regarding awards, yeah, who knows what Bipto has up his sleeve smile.gif. Gotta keep dancin' though smile.gif.

You know, I had something up my sleeve, but what with one thing leading to another, my sleeve is now empty! I'm afraid all you'll get from me in Bluff Creek is the pleasure of my scintillating personality. icon_razz.gif

Despite the threat of your "scintillating", I still will make the trip.
shaman
