Common Sense clutched his chest and died in the Bigfoot community a long time ago.
No one knows for certain when it might have happened, or how!
Some are not even sure he ever existed. They search for sign of his passing but obvious traces are hard to find.
There was a guy who claimed to have the frozen body..but he was just using this to sell a debunking book.

As a common sense researcher, the question I get asked the most is.."Why is there no sign of Common Sense in the Bigfoot community?
I tell them.."There are.. from time to time .. impressions of Common Sense which are discovered. But these can be easily faked by an unscrupulous person who knows how to sway an audience hungry for such.
This audience is easily led without their even being aware of it happening.
The truly insidious part of it all is that this self same person cannot only deceive..but can also delve into what common sense people have and tap into their reserve ..thereby draining it.
Now, as you might appreciate..the real problem here stems from those people who have little common sense to start with....

Common Sense might have been murdered by suffocation! There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of books out there dealing with everything from Harpies..to sea serpents....to devils. So many that one would think that everyone on this planet has seen at least one of them in their lifetime!!

There is a school of thought that Common Sense is not dead but being held captive by people out to cash in on his disappearance. A clumsy abduction..but one which seems to be working..the ransom is being paid! There are book writers, people offering expeditions, people who make outrageous claims to the press to line their own pockets...

"If I had the where withal to gather together a reward, I would offer $100,000.00 [USD] to the first person who could tell me how the impressions of Common Sense were faked? I believe that these impressions were real..not all of them mind you.. but..there are some sterling examples of such available to us in this field.
Like attracts like. It is a law of the universe. Whatever you put out..so will you attract.Try it sometime.
If you have a shred of Common Sense in some aspects of your life, then you can reclaim it and utilize it here in the sasquatch community, as well. And if each and every one of you would throw out what they think they know and just use Common Sense in baby steps, then so too will your peers.
Common Sense can be resurrected. It can be freed from where it is imprisoned at the hands of money mongers and egotists of all shapes and sizes..."

Over the generations there are those who thought that Common Sense should be more rightly named Common Cents...for they just sit in your pocket and people forget that they have them...or they wear holes in your pocked over time and people loose them.

"Common Sense is your gut feelings amended in order to fit into a social setting. Where an animal has instinctual behavior..you would have common sense. An animal knows not to jump over a cliff (except for Lemmings..but that is another discussion.)without ever having done so. Just as a human knows not to stick their finger into a light socket, without having previously done so.
So why is it that when little Johnny comes running into the kitchen claiming that there is a gorilla looking over the fence at him..you would tell him to stop telling fibs and go back outside. Why? It is possible that a gorilla is looking at him..not likely..but possible! Yet you decry it as a possibility. This is known as using your Common Sense!
But then you enter the Bigfoot/Sasquatch community where little Susie is telling her parent that a sasquatch was looking over the fence at her..bringing out an entirely different reaction..same situation as in your kitchen earlier..but now in front of the computer you are all to willing to suspend belief....or what is more commonly known as..not using your.."Common Sense" and then clamor to know more even in the face of lack of evidence!"

Common Sense is out there! Even in the old west there are stories where people have said "Use yer common sense, why dont'cha!" Major Reno was overheard saying to Brigadier General Custer, "George..common sense will tell ya that this is a bad idea!"

Evangelists will tell you that it is "God Given..."

Polititions will tell you that it has an.."Approach.."

Yet, why is it we have to look so hard to find it?

Common Sense, in my opinion did not die. It is still active in certain far off quarters. We keep getting reports of such. However,it seems to have been run off in certain areas possibly never to return, for We are unruly and undisciplined and will not allow Common Sense get in the way of a good time. And in today's society more and more people want to be entertained instead of learning.

Well, whatever your stand on Common Sense..or whether you have any or not..you will have to admit that it has been a good friend to you in the past. So before any of us make a comment on a subject..maybe we should give our old friend [Common Sense] a call and ask his advise.

In the meantime, we would love to hear what evidence you might have found in your own little piece of the world which might substantiate the existence of Common Sense...! new_specool.gif

I am reminded of Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" reading this post.

Actually I think that's quite wrong. I think the "Bigfoot Community" is all about "common sense".

Where "common sense" has been lost is in the scientific community, where strict methodology and ideology has destroyed it's ability to do the very thing it should be doing best; seeking knowledge.

Instead, sasquatchery has been left behind in distain for "the common man", who approaches the mystery with "common sense".

Perhaps the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom. But tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason......

I don't think common sense is dead in the Bigfoot community either. I think there are many individuals who suffer from a lack of brains, but there are a good many that are the essence of sense. However, I would tend to think the brainless are brainless regardless of their association with this community.

I compleatly agree with Hairy Man. Even on my beloved car racing forum, you find the brainless. Unfortunatly they are everyplace. Bigfoot does not have a monopoly on them.

GrandCherokee, if this originated on another forum, then you really should've kept it on the other forum.

A sad obituary indeed. Let's all have a moment of silence for the passing of this thread.
