This was on the local news a week or two back... the BFRO was (and the news channel wasn't that clear) in my area (Tampa) to look for Bigfoot. The "Tampa Bay Area" is a couple counties, like Hillsborough and Pinellas, but can be stretched to include Polk, Pasco and Manatee. The report didn't really say where they were... maybe Ocala up North. Aparently they didn't find anything.

I went and hiked the 3.6 mile trail through Hillsbourogh Park, where I thought they might have gone, the day before Easter. It's a beautiful park, but I saw no evidence nor heard any stories. Maybe you should go there and ask one of the park rangers if bigfoot has been bothering the campers?

Here is the river. Lots of people.

This is the primitive campsite. It's about 2 miles from the main campground, out on the trail.

I lived in FL for 20 years and have not seen anything :-( I also lived not far from Ocala, in citrus county...Plenty of woods there in some areas, but have yet to see anything out of the ordinary; well unless you count turkey buzzards being mistaken for turkeys icon_really_happy_guy.gif I get the feeling that maybe he only comes out of hiding when I am out of the area *sniffs my armpits* nope I don't stink, it's not that. laugh.gif Any other info for this area including ocal and citrus county will be nice. If anyone ehars of any, keep me updated.

There used to be a lot of reports out of Citrus county (I lived there four years - mid 80's - Inverness, Crystal River) most of them were from the Lecanto area, around a big quarry or sand mine somewhere way out in the woods where teenagers would hang out and see them sometimes.

Hmm I lived in Lecanto / Homosassa area and hadn't heard of anything,b ut of course ti was late 90's when I lived there. That is interesting to know though. I need to ask some of my friends that still live there if they have heard anythign more recent as well.. Thank you for that info Robert.

Aila,

I lived there for four years and never heard a word about bigfoot either. I read these reports a year ago on the BFRO site.

BTW, a friend of mine lives in Weeki-Watchee, near the Chasawitzka River reserve, and told me once that there have been a lot of stories passed around between the locals of skunk apes in those woods too.

Most of these stories don't ever make it out of the woods. Country folk don't want the negative attention, people calling them crazy and so on, so them mostly keep all this to themselves.

I know where that area is. And yeah I understand how they are there about negative attention. It would be neat though to go back there and go searching. Some of the people I know in the area have mentioned to me stuff about ufo sightings and such, too bad they didn't tell me about bf though while I was there. I'd have had a ball traipsing through the woods near my house looking lol. Do you still talk to your freind? I was wondering if it ispossible to ask about anything recent that may have been a possible bf sighting or what looks to be bedding, or any thing that could possibly be from that. thanks.
