That female investigator makes some very convincing bigfoot calls/whoops.Never heard of this group,a little unorthodox in their approach. If they don't find a bigfoot,I'm sure they will succeed in shooting themselves eventually.
With all that noise and gun play, how does he expect to achieve any serious reseach?

This little student/amature documentary is interesting on a number of levels, but as for providing any evidence at all about bigfoot itself, it's nothing.
As someone who has had significant experience in producing "event videos" and gathering on-site footage for video, I can say that the kids who produced and take part in this "video investigation" are themselves pretty good from a technical as well as creative point of view and the quality of the video isn't too bad for this sorta thing; where you're mostly just following the action, catching reaction shots, and hammin' it up for fun. The editiing for continuity was pretty good too and the cut-away interviews provided a nice way to interlace the story of the "hunt" with the profiles of the "hunters".
What I think someone with an interest in catching a sasquatch on film or video should find interesting is how hard it is to capture visually on camera what it is that the viewer is seeing in real life. You wouldn't think this would be that hard, but in the scenario where our camera crew is actually focused on trying to record our hunter as he kept descretely hidden by some relatively sparse undergrowth while trying to mimic the behaviours we associate with bigfoot, we see that it's almost impossible to see the figure moving about as much of anything but a blur. It's easy to see that were we a prepared hunter with camera ready for recording while trying to track a bigfoot close enough to video the creature, the result might be just as inconclusive as the example we've seen from our Ghost Hunters International gang.
Incidentally I'm sure I'd seen that brief clip of the guy mimicing bigfoot not too long ago. Seeing it again within the context of this video we see that it had never been intended to be a hoax but again underscores the difficulty of being certain when it comes to almost any purely visual interpretation.
I hope the Ghost Hunters International have a long and prosperous career in producing gonzo video journalism, something for which our appetite seems only to grow as we continue to evolve into cyber-sapiens.

Sorry folks, but I am extremely leery of anyone who charges for an expedition. From what I have seen, the only thing that you get for the money is the right to show up at a particular location on a particular weekend. And maybe play with some cool toys that you might not have access to otherwise. Seems like you could run your own expedition for a lot less by doing a little research and networking with other folks through SRI, BFF, and other such sites.
Anyway, my 2 cents...

Hey guys, my name is Greg Newkirk and I'm part of the GHI crew. One of the fellas found this forum by accident the other day and passed it on to me.
I'd first off like to thank dogu4, Robert, and TheCrow for the kind words. In response to Hollywood Action Hero's question about the knocking, I'm not sure I heard it, but I'm pretty sure that it had to have been coming from Becky if it were there. She had demonstrated the knocking technique a few times (clips didn't make it into this cut), and it would be no surprise to me if she had been playing around with it more.
I'm in the process of cutting the second outing together (you see a few clips from it before the credits play out), and it was quite a bit more interesting than this trip.
I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you folks might have about the film or those involved, so feel free to ask away.

The gun issue with the adult male scares the crap out of me. Giving a firearm to a person (let alone a minor) that I did not know well, is reckless. I would not go into the field with him, period.
He has some issues, to say the least.
The kids don't seem convinced either. Way too much goofing aroundThe skull shirted youngster is way intent at pointing the weapon at an unknown noise, looking for trouble. Does he even have a hunting license?!
This video should be titled "How NOT to Do Bigfoot Research."

#1- Yeah, the gun issue scared us a little too, but this guy has been to Iraq and back several times.
#2- We're all 22+ years old, not minors. Yes, we have hunting licenses, we're from rural America.
#3- This video was not intended to be an instructional video, it was intended to be a humorous look at some local bigfoot hunters. In that aspect, I think the goal was achieved. We did nothing more than meet them, go with them, and leave the camera running the entire time. Did we really think we were going to capture bigfoot? No, not hardly. We just wanted to experience something new.

Thanks for the age clarification. However, I would never point a weapon at movement if I wasn't EXACTLY sure of what I would be firing at. That's how tragedies occur.
The gentleman may have been to Iraq several times, but his behaviors are still frightening. Firing a firearm into an area that you are investgating is the most counterproductive research method, unless sasquatch has learned to associate firearms with deer kills. The guy's method of running around in the woods wearing camo is tragically humorous.
The video reminds me of MTV's "Wild Boyz" crossed with a dysfunctional episode of "Future Weapons."
Be careful.

Greg; thanks for your acknowledgement and for adding your input. It's nice to get insight straight from the horses mouth, so to speak.
I'm lookin' forward to the next edition. How has the interest been over at Google Video? Have you considered YouTube? The news that they were setting up a system to pay video content creators should come as good news to small independent crews lookin' to break into the business and get their work out there.
What other sort of responses from other crypto forums or from other potential outlets have you been receiving? If you haven't had much exposure to the phenomenology of cryptozoology before you might be surprised at the enthusiasm and size of this currently under-served demographic segment out here in the wired-world. Good luck and keep havin' fun...

Hey Dogu,
The interest at google video has been far better than I'd ever imagined. The response as been mostly positive, but there seem to be some feathers ruffled. It's not really surprising to me, you can't make everyone happy. Apparently Tom Biscardi is pretty furious with us (Becky worked for him). I guess he figured we were straight up making fun of bigfoot hunting, which really was not the case at all. The guys and I have always had a thing for bigfoot and when we found out that there were some local bigfoot hunters we flipped. We couldn't pass up the chance to go out with them. It didn't really end up where we expected to, as you can imagine.
As far as Youtube goes, I'd love to submit it there seeing as how it's more popular then google video, but I've waited for two reasons. One being that their form for video submission over ten minutes has been down, and two being that there's a few rough edges I'd like to trim. I never expected it to get as many views as it has.
I'm hoping that I can have the second part done and posted soon. I've recently moved out to the pacific northwest, and finding the time to edit has been rough lately. I can tell you that in August, we'll all be going to the "Bigfoot Daze" festival in Carson, WA to document the activities, and I think that even Tim will be there. That should be interesting..
Anyone here going?

I think that you might find for all the interest in the subject and focus on trying to capture images of the creature, people are fascinated with the people and an event where high profile personalities are present.

Definitely worth the time to watch it!!!
That poor guy!
"The last one is for yourself."
How many times could he have said that. For a guy taking such a courageous attitude, he ran back into the middle of the field the second he heard a noise. He immediately called for exit stage left!
In the epilogue the whole Russian bride / Karate warrior vs Monkey Man / Burger King is my Home thing really puts it all in place.

You guys are kidding me right? They guys are crazy and they clearly don't know what their doing. Their going around making way to much noise thinking the creature going to walk right up to them and give them a clear shot dispite the fact that their sitting out in the open talking to each other with guns. The BF is an intellegent creature and should be treated as one. It would take more skill to hunt a BF than a deer and and they sure as hell would of scared a deer away long before they could of got a shot off. They won't be shooting BF any time soon. Way to noisy. First off you need to take into consideration the creatures senses. The creature probably has superier hearing to that off a human and smell for that matter because it has to rely on it's senses alot more. You think making a few BF like sounds (probably can't duplicate them good enough anyway) and than talking like "oh it's coming" is going to help you catch that. They weren't even wispering and were standing right out in the VISIBLE open acting like they think they saw something. Please. BF can smell hear and see like humans but probably to a better lvl than we can. You really think BF will just march up into the open and then you take him out with your guns? Hell no! No wonder we can't catch BF. We got morons hunting it. Also in the area where the trees are all knocked over did they bother to check for hair or footprints? Oh and when their by the creek showing us what they claim to be a heel mark of BF in the mud, are you honestly telling me there will be no more footprints in the soft mud left by a 500 pound creature? A much deeper impression should of been made in the mud. None of these dudes know what their doing. Is this even worth our time? Ignore this type of s**t seruisly. If a BF was in the area where they were searching or hunting for it (if you even wanna call it that) than it's gone now and they scared it right out of there with their stupidity going around stomping and talking and making noise standing out in the open. Ask any hunter about this video and he will tell you unless your hunting for a creature with no brain than this is just disrespectful it's so stupid. Nothing about that video was interesting. They will NEVER EVER EVER bring in a BF body, shoot one, or injure it, or even come into viewing one EVER I PROMISE you.

I think you're looking at this video clip way too hard. We (GHI) were not the bigfoot hunters, in fact, at the time, we knew very very little about the process of hunting bigfoot, all that we were doing was going along for the ride with two self-proclaimed bigfoot researchers. If you fail to see the unintentional hilarity in the footage, then I apologise. I guess that I just took for granted the thought that everyone would understand that this video was more of an observation of the bigfoot hunters than the actual idea of bigfoot hunting.
Here's my advice to you, Ultimate Predator : If you didn't like the video, thought it was "s**t" and "so dumb it was disrepectful", then go out and make your own. Put your money where your mouth is, and if you know so much about hunting the creature why don't you head out and make a video with some footage of it? I'm sure that you'll be able to make one that's much more interesting as well. This one was filmed in August with no planning and released in September. That gives you about a month/a month and a half. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Cheers!

We're from rural pennsylvania, so we were raised with guns, a lot of the guys were hunters. Tim, who should have had the most weapons training from being in Iraq a few times, was the one who we were most nervous about.
I'm on the westt coast right now, have been for several months, and I've been doing a lot of planning for some upcoming bigfoot related activities. Bigfoot mania is definitely big here in the pacific northwest, so documenting it is a no-brainer. I'll make sure that if I come up with anything worth sharing I'll drop you guys a line.
