Hunting Bigfoot
December 1, 2006

Question: Can Bigfoot be hunted? If so, are there
any regulations?

Answer: Even though I know this is just a silly question to see if I'll answer it, here's the real scoop. While there may not be any laws on the books specifically regulating or prohibiting the hunting of "Bigfoot" (whether he truly exists, or not, and I hope he does!), we do have laws regulating hunting, harassment of wildlife, and the take of nuisance species. You can't hunt for something unless it is specifically authorized, and no season or bag limit exists for Bigfoot.
But even with that said, there are no laws stopping you from enjoying the "scouting" for the illusive Sasquatch, and a camera is always a legal "method of take."

How come I'm not surprised that a government entity has an opinion on something that doesn't exist? Reminds me of the time that they arrested the guy around here for not paying taxes on the illegal drugs he was selling (income tax...not sales tax). He wasn't charged with possession of or selling the drugs...just tax invasion.

That was how Chicago ganster Al Capone was finally put behind bars in the 1930's. Capone covered his tracks too well to be chargable on any of the crimes he ordered. But sure took in and payed out way more money than he made from his listed, legal business.
