An Edmonton man claims to have at least 12 seconds of video footage that proves Bigfoot exists.

He’s incorporated it into a 30-minute documentary that’s airing at the Citadel next Thursday.

The movie is called Sylvanic, a derivative of a native word used in southern British Columbia to describe the “shadow guardians of the mountains” says movie maker Todd Standing, 33.

Standing’s been interested in Bigfoot for years, but remained a hardline skeptic until about a year ago, when he said he caught his first glimpse of the mythical monstrosity.

“I will reveal to the world everything I know about these animals, everything the natives have known for generations - about how they’ve been evading us, and why we must enact legislation to protect them,” Standing said.

He and two research colleagues claim to have hair samples from the animal, and footage of a seven-foot-tall creature weighing approximately 400 lbs. running through the mountains.

“It’s a great ass-shot,” Standing said. “You can see glutes, hamstring and calf muscle. It’s in motion and it moves very fast.

“Bigfoot is either the biggest hoax in the history of mankind - fooling Vikings and natives for generations - or there really is a bipedal man-like primate out there.

“I’ve seen it, and I’m a believer.”

Sylvanic airs at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. at the Citadel’s Zeidler Hall next Thursday. Tickets are $5, and proceeds are being donated to the Edmonton Humane Society.

I have a feeling this video is the real thing....the guy gives specific details about what's on the video, and it's being shown very soon...unlike the Johor fiasco, which dragged on and on.

It sounds like the proceeds from the theater showing are being donated, not the proceeds from the video sales.

The general consensus when Sylvanic first came up here was that it was a fabricated myth--along the lines of the Blair Witch Project.

This is going to be huge. I can feel it in my loins.
Of course I get the same feeling when I have hemorrhoids.

I do hope that whatever the outcome may be, that this shall forever be referred to as: 'the ass-shot-sylvanic footage'. We can even have a subforum dedicated to the 'ASS footage', with thorough and complete ASS analysis.

Wouldn't it just be sumthin' if this guy has the real deal? A bit reminiscent of our good friend Roger, don't you think? Guy gets trashed for making a mockumentary and actually stumbles upon the genuine article.

I live less than 90 minutes away from the Citadel Theater in Edmonton and I am going to see it for sure. Maybe I'll sit through all 3 showings, $5.00 a ticket is cheap entertainment. Hopefully Todd Standing will be there to answer questions and give a commentary of his film.

So I come home last night and part of the Sylvanic video had been aired last night on CTV here in Calgary and of all people my wife says "hey honey there was this video of a big hairy man on the evening news that someone from Edmonton claims is Sasq"..........I stood there dumbfounded and now can't find any link to the actual video and tried taping the late news and no video.........sorry guys I tried to capture it and somehow put it in the forum.

Hi folks,...I havent been here in awhile and I found this footage on break.com and thought I should share this with all you fine folks. Im still a noob and am unable to post new topics and so I figure this was just as good as any. Give me your thoughts on this,Im leaning toward real genuine footage but I dont have the story behind this video and usually dont like to judge something by its cover. Anyway, here it is

I notice that when the bigfoot enters the wood line at end of video,there is no movement of tall grasses or anything around it that you think should be moving from air current by passing of large bipedal animal. It just does'nt look real.You hit it right on the nose,it has a definite set up feel to it! I feel fake all the way. :glare:
