Three days ago (21) I heard through a friend that some 14" tracks had been found in the Patagonia area on or about the 10th of this month. 't would have been nice to have heard about them before the 12th when we got rain. I haven't photoed or cast any tracks in quite some time and could have been at the site within an hour. Sniffle....Whine....and Snivel.......

You and me both. I live in Tucson and can access Patagonia within an hour. I have been poking around up in Mt Graham occasionally, with no results so far. Do have any info on other sightings in Southern Arizona?

Thanks,

Francisco

An addendum: In the past 2 weeks Patagonia has become fairly attractve to the bears and cougars. Fish and Games boys have a trap set in the Sonoita Creek wash for the black, 150# bear that has been seen in town several times.....a cinnamon, 500#+ bear was seen NE of town....and a brown 200# bear was seen about 8 miles NE of town...1 cougar has been seen in the town park chasing a javelina..........last count i heard for Tucson was 17 bears and there are reports in Sierra Vista.......

We had a good monsoon but, of course, our winter and spring were pretty dry and those animals aren't finding much food at higher elevations and are coming down for food.....

I assume, rightly or wrongly, that the next few months might see more bigfoot track reports and sightings......maybe that will reduce my frustration level......

Another Addendum:

I have been told by my friend that the lady who saw the 14" tracks apparently got freaked out enough by it that she quit her job and has moved out of the area. Silly girl......

And.....the littlest black bear got shot by Fish and Game boys.......had a record of being a pest before....not afraid of people.....bear # 90 in their records and on an ear tag.........3 strikes and you're out........
