I came across this a few months ago on the net and recalled it tonight while on Live Chat. I finally relocated page, and then did a search here and discovered it has never been covered as a topic.

So I guess this very large Femur Bone will be of interest to some. I don't know if dna analysis has ever been done but this might be a good candidate for a bit more investigation.

The bone was found in the Euphrates Valley in the 1950's and is apparently now on display in Texas. The femur, if real, is about 48" long, meaning it could have come from a creature 14-16' tall, according to the article.

Actually, the femur on display is only a sculpture by Joe Taylor. (as indicated in the link you provided)

Apparently there's no proof this bone ever actually existed.

I realize your points but there could be some syntax error to the article too. Would seem worth it for someone in the area to check it out personally to see what the full story is. Not enough info with the article.

I tried that "wee bit of Googling" yesterday on the topic of large/giant human bones and came up with lots of references to non-scientific links, ie; bigfoot, ufo, conspiracy, urban legends and evolution vs creation theory sites. The only scientific reference was to a new book relating to giant bone finds as Mis-identification of Mammoth bones in North America. The Mammoth Femur below appears to be thicker and lacks the height of the replica posted. Ray, do you have any links from your google search?

Sounds like you pretty much got the same things I did, though the link I provided was the first one that comes up if you type 'giant thigh bone egypt' into Google.

I don't see the connection between a fake bone and bigfoot, or why it would be found on a bigfoot website.

HELLO! Go to the freakin museum and look at it LOL!
RayG
HELLO! I don't need to go to the 'museum', it's a fake. Read the freakin caption that accompanies the 'bone'. It's a sculpture. (which means it's NOT THE REAL DEAL)
