Thank you, Bill. I hope this thread gets a lot of results. I have had one sighting, on January 13th, 1998, at 1:15 A.M., 10 miles south of Boyle, Mississippi, on Highway 61. It was a large, dirty-white creature which I originally saw cross the highway approximately 200 yards ahead of me from left to right. It stopped on the side of the road before I got up to it. The creature stood still, as if believing I would think it was a post or stump at the side of the road. It had its back to me standing in a ditch, and it looked to be about 7 1/2-8 feet tall, and very muscular. I could literally see muscles in this thing's back. It never turned and looked at me, and it was within my field of vision for 15 seconds. That is the one and only sighting I have ever had (I think the other supposed sightings I had were either hoaxes or mistakes), but I have also found tracks on three separate occasions and heard strange vocalizations. I am hoping to get some reports of activity in this thread for a possible future online newsletter, and hope I get some good feedback and input. Thanks.

One report that I took personally over the telephone last November is very interesting and is presented here in its entirety: Witness: Gary C. (not his real name)
Date of encounter: 11/14/05
Time: Between 11:45 P.M. and 12:30 A.M.
Location: Ittawamba/Prentiss County Line, Mississippi near Natchez Trace Parkway, 200 yards from John Bell Williams Game Reserve next to TomBigbee Waterway
Activity of Witness: spotlighting deer on a dead-end road
Weather Conditions: Almost full moon
Terrain: Wooded
Witness called me earlier this evening (November 15th) and told me that he and two other witnesses saw a 5'10"-6'0" tall creature, black, with a greenish tint to the eyes. Witness does not say unequivocally that it was a Bigfoot, but he is certainly puzzled about what it was. Witness hunts in that area often, and has never seen an animal stand on its hind legs or run. Creature crossed road in front of witnesses, turned and looked at them and took off. Creature was 25-30 yards away.
Witnesses heard after seeing the creature wood-whacking and whacking on tin. The wood-whacking was twice in rhythm, "whap, whap." This took place 35 yards away from them. Witnesses went back this morning to search for tracks and could find none. Witness works at tire plant and is willing to take a polygraph.

hi henry bf2004 good morning in my honest opinion i think your state of ms does get a good amount sasquatch encounters or footprints at once a year. ms does have alot swamplands and forests etc where sasquatch creatures can prowl around for food resources like deers wildpigs fruits etc and water resources. where in ms forests do sasquatch creatures make nests to keep safetly hidden or for them to sleep. thanks bill

hi henry & ms sasquatch researchers here good morning ive been noticeing a slight increase of sightings etc in the state ms latety in various bigfoot sightings databases. does this mean you all go in the ms swamps etc with cameras to look for possible evidence etc. i hope more ms encounters or footprints are reported to you all soon. seeing the weather is being so wicked in ms it might forceing the creatures to move around more to look for food resources etc therefore more people will report seeing sasquatch creatures or other wildlife more often. thank you bill please keep me us informed ok its inportant for research purposes... :bf:

I have heard this said before.

I know there is one group over there that goes out at night and listens for them alot.

I talked to a hunter last year from Mississipi and he told me a little about what he had seen back when he was a teenager. One night on a back road (I forget what town he said it was close to) he seen what he first thought was a man squating down beside the road. It was dark and he said he wondered what in the world a person would be doing out there by himself at night. He stopped and turned around and drove back to where he saw what he thought was a person was and as he approached ..it stood up and walked across the road put its' hand on a fence post and hopped over it like it was nothing. It continued out into the woods out of sight. He said it was about 6 foot tall covered with black or dark colored hair from head to foot. It had longer arms than a man and did not walk like a man but was walking on 2 legs like a man. It never looked at him while he had the lights of the car on him so he never got a look at its' face. He said it never seemed to get in a hurry just walked off like I was not even there.

About those green eyes..I would like to know if they were a blue-ish green and they shined real brightly. I saw this color eyes one night and have never seem them again and wonder what it could have been. I have seen plenty of deer at night and just about everything else that have eyes that shine. I have done my share of hunting at night back in my younger days and have never seen eyes that shined like these.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of reported sitings in the South East. I think this maybe due to the very thick vegitation here. You could have a colony living behind your house and never know it. I live near Pensacola and driving west this thick jungle goes all the way into Eastern Texas.

Don't forget, we are in the Bible Belt. There's a backlash for folks going public with stories about big hairy creatures.

I was going to say something about this also. I know of one person that was told they needed to stop researching these things..you don't know what you messing with. These things are demons.

This all goes back to folks don't want others to think they are crazy and the ole attitude that if there was something out there in them woods like that somebody would have seen them and one of them would have been killed in the road or something.
The only thing wrong with this is..somebody has seen them but not talking.

One story that I was told about a Ms. encounter was a hunter who slipped on another mans land to try and kill a big buck that was seen several times in a certain place. The man went to the owners house and told him he had been on his land and what he was doing. Told him he would never have to worry about him doing that again.
The man who had the encounter has never been hunting again. His brother had to go and get his 4 wheeler and gun the man left when he ran outa there. I tried to make contact with this person though someone who knows him. I got the message back..he aint talking and don't even want to think about it again.

Maybe that's why we don't see more Ms. reports.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I guess that makes me an infidel! I might loose my head. Just driving down I-10 the woods "jungle" is so stink'n thick its incredable. I would think there are back woods folks with loads of stories. I have only lived here a year. Maybe I should ask around and see what kind of stories I can come up with.

Watch, would that group happen to be near a college town here in Ms? Also the deer eyeshine is more pronounced in white light. White light from a led flashlight will show up as the bluish green eye shine in a deer. I saw this a few nights ago while trying out my new 3 watt led maglite. The deer was maybe two hundred feet away and his eyes were incredibly bright. Hunter

The light I used at the time was a Q-beam and deer eyes shine green most of the time. This was no deer because it was about 10 feet off the ground. It was either in a tree or trying to hide behind it. It was sort of an aqua blue. Real pretty color and bright. I have never seen it before and have not since. It was off over on a hillside on the other side of a clear cut place that has really grown up. It was next to a creek and that was one reason we were there. It didn't seem scared of us as it stayed around over there for 5 to 10 mins. I just shined the clear cut right before we left just to see if there was anything out there moving in close to us. There were a few deer way down below us and they would have been about 200 yards away from the blue eyes.

Yes..it is.

I have been to Camp Shelby a few times, but it has been over 20 years ago and I know things have changed but, I noticed some of the Desoto National Forest land around the area. Some of the timber looked like virgin timber. Really old growth stuff. If I was looking for a place to checkout over that way I would be looking for some remote areas near the creeks and rivers in that area.
Be careful..there are some mean cottonmouths in them woods.

Mike thats what I thought. I was at Shelby doing my two weeks in the summer and heard some unusual vocalizations. I think people think this is bigfoot. This was back in the early nineties when things were pretty quiet there. With the impact areas being active now, I imagine wildlife has moved out. An area of interest is the De Soto national forest in Wayne county, deep dark, and scary. Ive been in there many times. I also saw a group of mule deer in there. As far as I know mule deer are pretty rare in these parts. Hunter

This is pretty interesting because of how close i was to this ecounter: it all started about a few years back me and my sister where hanging out at the edge of a forest in NJ and i started hearing a dog bark ..(it sounded like this dog was barking around us/at us giving us a warning and no this dog bark was not the ecounter)...so i said to her you hear that and she said no...i was just tryin to scare her and then she said WELL DID YOU JUST HEAR THAT!! and i said shutup your not funny and she said to me no seriously ..she said it sounded like a gorilla/tiger like sound and she said I HEARD IT AGAIN ITS GETTING CLOSER!!! I started laughing like this was a joke and my sister started moving away and i heard something in the bushes moving very rougly through like in a crouch position and i heard this werid like gorilla/tiger screech and it was loud and wut ever it was ..it wasnt happy like it was tellin me to stay out of its terriotory!! i started kinda running away and then i see this BIG HAIRY BEAST(black like color) START RUNNING to the next bush to the next and damn did i run inside i grabbed the camera and went back outside (in a good enough distance from where i was standing) and tried to take pictures but it was gone!! wutever it was im just about posotive it was BIGFOOT and until this day ive been a huge bigfoot believer an fan(i always believed in bigfoot though).

hey everyone so whats new with missisippi sasquatch activity footprints strange screams i figured the creatures must realy on the prowl in woods & swamps to look for fish or deers before winter comes along therefore they will possibly be seen more often by people but it just my opinion. i would to see your replys regarding this ok

Always a pleasure replying to you.

I talked to some of my wifes kinfolks the other day and one of them told me a very interesting story. First..let me state why I am posting this here. The area we are talking about is right on the AL and MS. border and next to the Tombigbee River.

I asked them if they had ever heard any unusual or strange sounds at night over in their area. She said "OH yeah..whatever those things are.. they travel the creeks in the spring and winter every year with their screaming and howls.

She also told me that when she was young that she and a friend had gone up one of the creeks one day just exploring.

What she said she found was what was interesting. She said that up one of the creeks there were rock cliffs and over hangs and they found what she called one big nest or bedding area of a very large animal.

I asked her if she smelled anything.. she said.."did I smell anything"? If I did it was me..LOL

They left the area running and have not been back.

I have emailed her with a few questions about what she saw and told her to take her time with trying to remember detail about the nest/bedding area.

If she replies..I may write up a little something about it and post it over on my website.

I will let you know what I find out.

It's probably been around a year ago now, but on two seperate occasions, both in the early morning hours, I have heard what I believe to be Sasquatch vocalizations near where I live here in Itawamba county. The reason I believe them to be Sasquatch vocalizations is because they sounded just like the howl/screams I heard when I definitely saw a Sasquatch in Alabama, back in the early 80's. I haven't seen or heard anything since those last vocalizations.

There is one elderly lady not too far from here, who has told my wife that she has regularly seen some type of animal that fits the general description of a Sasquatch, but she has refused to let me interview her and/or do any investigating on her property. That's the only thing around here that I've heard of lately.

Edited to add: When my wife asked her if she thought it might have been a bigfoot that she had seen, the lady told her that she had never heard of a "bigfoot" and didn't know what one was, but still her description seemed to describe one.

Hello I am new to this so please be patient . My husband and I recently saw an unusual swamp ape around the Pearl River bridge returning from Lake Charles and saw some horribly mutilated deer near Indian Bayou in the Atchalafya I hope I spelled that correctly I am not sure about MS but south Alabama has been crawling with them lately a lot of sightings in several areas

Them buggars are alive and kicking here in Mississippi. Just got another siting northeast of where I live. Guys got ran outta the woods by SOMETHING that roared at them and shook some rather large pines. They told me they WON'T be going back LOL I will though We've also got some new one's in D Lo where J's Mississippi meeting is. 2 last year as a matter of fact. One was someone canooing and the other was about a mile from that one. Guy was in a deer stand and something VERY LARGE (est. 8') crossed the trail in front of his stand and he got on his cell and called someone to come get him. He won't go hunting again or so he said

I am personally aware of a fellow in D'Lo who hoaxed tracks back in the 70s in the general area. He was a teenager back then.
