Dont know if this is the right place but wanted you guys to look at this one photo on ebay :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Look at the bottom etching of the orang utan...doesnt it look "familiar"??? Maybe the artist was actually looking at a bigfoot specimen mistaken as an orang utan? the posture looks a little too upright for an orang utan...

yeah, thats weird alright...how did you manage to find that?

LOL...I typed in orang utan in ebay...also this makes me think maybe a very long long time ago people might have seen Orang Mawas or bigfoot and they probably thought it was an orang utan!

Good job Blackbear. Older stuff like this is really interesting because it was made before people knew about "bigfoot." In my mind it's the older stuff like this that lends credence to the mystery.

Yeah I love finding old stuff like that...I read some old newspaper clippings posted by Tirademan that some people saw wildman and finally concluded it was just a "Gorilla." And this was back in the 1800s(late 1800s)...the newpaper article went on to say it was probably a Gorilla escaped from circus...But were there gorillas (minus the mountain gorilla) in the 1800s in the US in circusses? I always though maybe they caught a patty and labelled it a Gorilla and slapped them behind bars at circusses and zoos...then there are those red haired bigfoot...they might have been classified as Orang Utans...who knows...
