A little piece of malware that exploits a vulnerability in Internet Explorer was inserted into the forum sometime today or yesterday. The code has ben removed, but the the attack may be repeated.

PLEASE, if you must use Internet Explorer, ensure your system is as up to date as possible and all security patches have been applied. If possible, I recommend using Firefox. Also, a good antivirus program (that is also up to date) would be a good idea.

I will be applying a security patch to the forum later today. It will most likely be down for about an hour or so. I am not sure if this patch removes the threat of what we have just experienced, so keep your system updated!

As of this morning, the spyware problem has returned, though I have removed it again. I will be opening a ticket with Invision today.

If you are running IE on Windows, you could be infected by some malicious code that has been inserted into the site. As of this writing, the code has been removed, but since I do not yet fully understand how it is being added to the site, PLEASE install Windows Defender or another antispyware package ASAP for you own protection.
