With so much talk of what is and isn't evidence and what is or isn't a fact. There may be a more fun way to hash some things out.
The bigfoot game of "Fact and Not a fact . the rules are simple post a fact about bigfoot research followed by a non fact, the trick is if you're called upon to do so if someone calls you on what you said, it is up to you to provide the links ,research or book quotes to support what you have said. If you cannot or refuse to do so you lose a point. The is no positive points just minuses. If after three calls on your facts and you are unable to prooduce, you are out of the game. If you call someone and they DO produce the' facts' you are then likewise out of the game.
Which for people like me who type for crap will be a pain in the ass at some point I'm sure. If you think you can get away with one go for it, just be prepared to be called at any time.

To start:

Fact: In Oct. of 1976 Patterson and Gimlin filmed what they determined to be a bigfoot.

Not a fact: It has definatively been proven to be a bigfoot in the film.

Maybe to make it more of a "game", the fact/non-fact should be posted and then it is up to the rest of us to do the research and determine if it is a fact or a non-fact.

For example:

In Oct. of 1976 Patterson and Gimlin filmed what they determined to be a bigfoot. It has definatively been proven to be a bigfoot in the film.

Fact or Non-fact?

And then from here, we do the research and determine whether it is fact or not. Does that make sense?
jimf
Makes sense yes. But thats a little too easy.

Did you mean to claim that Patterson and Gimlin claimed to film what they determined to be a bigfoot in Oct. of 1967?

You transposed the numbers of the year, and I've had someone (SG; who else?) maintain that there's no proof that the filming took place on the day they claimed.

Jim, I call you on your fact.

I'm pretty sure you just made a typo.
jimf
AAAHHHH !! Yeah typo.. fixed one when I edited and missed the other. 1967 damn dyslexia.

Fact: I suck at typing.

Not a fact : I'm getting better at it.

Ok, I'll try one.

Fact: Southeastern Oklahoma is considered by some to be a "hot spot" for bigfoot sightings.

Not a fact: It's been proven that bigfoot breaks and bends trees and their branches as some type of marker.

:rolling:

That's okay. I knew what you meant!

I'll give 'er a try.

FACT: All primate dermal ridges run horizontally, while human dermal ridges run vertically.

NON-FACT: It has been proven that sasquatch dermal ridges run diagonally.

Fact: There is a lot of in-fighting within the bigfoot community.

Not a Fact: Sasquatch just love garlic.

Okay, that one was just for fun. Here's a serious one:

Fact: The longest foot ever recorded on a human being is 18 1/2 inches in length.

Not a Fact: There is a breeding population of Sasquatch in the United States.

I got to call you on your fact. Humans are under the biological order of Primates, therefore, not all primate dermal ridges run horizontally.

Not A Fact: I can come up with enough answers to keep it going on both boards.
