I finally get a sighting in my county, and it's this turd:

BFRO report #13034

QUOTE
Witness described the location well enough that I could pinpoint it on a map. Very populated now but once upon a time this area would have been perfect habitat with rivers, woods, lakes, creeks and springs nearby.

Uh-huh.

Took me about two minutes to find this picture:

That's the Platt Street Bridge in downtown Tampa in the 1950's. It's about five minutes driving time from the place where this "sighting" occurred.

:anim_horse: ? Yes. But, sometimes, the horse deserves it.

Touche' WC. Might as well had a "work for food sign" on him with so many street corners. :bsflag:

I'd like to see the actual sighting area before I pass judgement. I don't doubt that the pic displayed is "five minues" away from the locale, but there are plenty of places around the city I live in where 5 minutes can put one most definitely in "the woods" as it were.

The witness can't remember the name of his friend, but remembers details of the 'monster'?

Sounds like Bill Cosby's routine about how he and his buddy got scared after seeing the monster movies, and flattenned a homeless guy on the way home to the projects thinking he was a bogeyman!

Seriously, an assistant to a circuit court judge, and Caroline C makes an assertion that this fifty year-old memory buy a small kid who can't remember the name of his friend was "most likely not a man in a monkey suit. "

Well what was it then?

I'd be embarrassed to put this 'Class A' report on the GCBRO website, let alone the BFRO.

Then again, I'm beginning to wonder which has more credability these days.

Actually, she's right.... of course the witness said at the time he was living in some "Projects". I don't remember reading about "Projects" being in Florida during the time of Ponce de Leon's visits.

I honestly can't believe even the BFRO would publish that piece of fantasy on their site.

I just love those investigator notes that say "once upon a time". Fits don't it? :new_rolleyes:

<boom-boom, boom-boom, boom-boom> It's outside of your door..
<boom-boom, boom-boom, boom-boom> and it's going to eat you up..

Oh Lawdy! Start smearin' that jello on the kitchen floor! Get outta here, Chicken Heart!

 (I just love Bill Cosby)

Oh yeah, just to stay somewhat on topic. Good find, WC. Great report.. yuk.gif They just keep getting better and better...

Almost seems like the Cowman of Copalis has more going for it, ... At least the names of the people involved can probably be verified from public records. Maybe they can even be tracked down. Yowza.

When I was a kid in the sixties it was a 10 minute walk to Lions Park at the edge of town. The projects is located right below the park which is up the hill a little ways. I was hanging out with a kid that was in my class for a short while. I ran into him at the grade school then we went up to the park to mess around on the swings and stuff. There was a girl playing up there from the projects that was in the class behind me. We messed around on the toys until we got bored then the 3 of us took a trail up the hill into the timber. With very little coaxing the kid talked the girl into dropping her shorts. I can't remember his name but I could with out a doubt tell you her first name and what she showed us that day.

I'll bet that we don't doubt that. The problems I see between the two is 1) We all know what she showed you... some of us even have it... :new_whistle: ..... 2) You are not the admitted "researcher" for, (from their website) "The only scientific research organization exploring the bigfoot / sasquatch mystery" ( my emphasis) who, by placing this on the site as an "A" sighting is endorsing this as reviewed, investigated, and, at least in part, verified. 3) The report is from 1955, not the 60's, with no idea of the age at the time of the incident. ( or if they were watching a scary movie) 4) You have, no doubt, seen what you saw that day, many times since  versus not ever again.

It could very well be a "real" encounter. I am just saying that, given the lag in time, lack of verifiable details, and the fact that it is dealing with a subject that is not "stipulated" as in accepted, ( as was your "eyewitness" incident ) it probably should not have appeared on the site. I thought there was a review process to catch these?

Hang in there, WC, I have faith that you will get a better report, at least in the future.... Until then, maybe you can hang out toward Polk county.... and maybe get your own.
