Elliston saloon hosting annual hunt for Bigfoot on Saturday

By the IR staff - 03/10/2006

Bigfoot will be spending his annual evening hiding from intrepid hunters in Elliston on Saturday, March 11.

The possibly mythical creature, along with some "Wiley Wild Rainiers," will earn prizes for the hunters who manage to bring them in alive.

The "Elliston Fish & Game Commission" will be registering participants until 6:30 p.m. at Stoner's Last Chance Saloon. The hunt begins at 7 p.m.

The cost is $10. Hunters must be of legal drinking age. The hunt will be limited to 200 participants.

The first place winner, the hunter who tracks down Bigfoot, will win $150. The two hunters who find a Wiley Rainier will earn a jacket.

There will also be prize balloons to find that are good for T-shirts, caps and other prizes.

I found this cool camera with live streaming video in "hauser dam, montana." I was suprised to catch a snapshot of a couple of whitetail deer I believe grazing, which to me is a good sign of the wilderness. Keep watching. hauser dam

The first place winner, the hunter who tracks down Bigfoot, will win $150.

I think they should be more specific on this. Are we talking a carcass or not? How do you simply "track down" bf and then prove it to everyone else? Are you going to ask it pretty please to stay put while you yell for everyone else? Are you going to physicaly hold him preventing his escape, and then when everybody sees him you throw him back into the forest like a fish?

To me, especially when using the word "hunt" and "hunters" meaning people who not only track down but efficiently kill animals that means find and kill a sasquatch.

And $150 dollars? Get real! If I find him on that hunt the $150 prize does nothing but force me to be silent! I just love these "huge" prizes for proof of bf!! They say nothing more than, "Hey everybody! Gather round I got a proposal for ya'! If you go out and find proof of this animal I'll give you a prize!" Then it is set up to where there is no way that you can actually "prove" it under there rules and in such a way in that it is obvious that the creators of the contest do not have any confidence at all that the creature even exists.

If someone came forward to claim the prize they would not have it even prepared as that outcome would not be on the drawing board.
