Has onyone or group used deer calls at night and experienced any activity?
I realize that using the call could also bring in other predators but there are several reports of these creatures seen in pursuit of deer, and I do tend to think they are omnivores.
Something I would like to try, is taking the time to just make a recording using the deer call for the full length of a tape (90 minutes, it's going to be boring making it) and then going out and setting the recorder out on play and setting out another recorder to "tape" in the same vicinity.
Setting out a recorder for only a 90 minute period and trying to capture any sound in response to the recording is going to be a crap shot, because one of these critters would have to be in the general area to lure it in.
We DO NOT plan on staying to see the results "if any" but to set out a game cam and retrieve the equipment the following morning.
Anyone else tried this?

I've never tried it, but it sounds like a great idea to me.

I have used doe bleets right at daybreak, while it was still dark, but this was while deer hunting. I have also used deer blows and snorts on the way to my stand before daylight if I have jumped a deer. Trying to fool it into thinking I'm a buddy. Never tried em late at night. Deer will blow at you at night. I've had that happen on numerous occasions.

First douse yourself down with doe-in-heat scent, then crawl under a log, and bleat away.....
Seriously, if you ould incorporate a deer decoy, you might be very surprised as to you capture on film.

i do a lot of deer hunting and have use a lot of deer calls, there are so many on the market. However its hard to duplicate real deer sounds with success, and a lot of practice is required. The calls are made from different designs and materials, some sound goog, some dont.Just keep that in mind when using them
