Just talked with a friend of mine......
During the first week of Nov. 2005, ********* of the community of Dallas, Arkansas(near Mena) was driving to a friends home to check on it. Around 2 PM as she climbed the hill in her car she saw a "brown hair-covered ape" standing on the side of the road. "It was definitely not a bear." She said that," It was slim and about 7 ft tall. My boys are 6-4 and 6-3 and it was bigger than they are. I stopped the car and watched it for about 3 minutes."(Q) "from here to that tree"(about 40- 50 yards) "It's hair was about 4 inches long. I didn't think I could back down the hill so I started going again and looked around to see if there were any more. When I looked back it was gone. It must have just jumped over the bank(about a 20 ft drop) because there was a high bank on the right side of the road. There was no way it could have gone up that bank."(Q) "It was like a human but it's arms and legs were longer(proportionally)."

hi jon thanks for telling me & everyone here about this new arkansas sasquatch sighting. are you & arkansas researchers going to the sighting location with cameras to look for sasquatch footprints etc take a photo of the sighting location. is the sighting location mentioned on any maps from arkansas. is the sri & tbrc going to help with this research into this new sighting this week. keep us posted here. bill

p.s. try to reinterview the eyewittness & people in the area to see if there was other sasquatch activity. maybe contact the police or goverment base in arkansas to see if they gotten any reports of strange or unexplained wildlife in the area. it would great if the eyewittness draw a sketch of the sasquatch looked like. maybe tell the eyewittness to come to the bigfoot forums to give a statement about the sighting. maybe put nightcams in the sighting location area. thanks bill

Great report! How neat to get a whole three (3) minutes to look at the BF! You actually get the time to make some observations when you have that kind of time to do so. Being in the car is especially nice because if the BF had decided to approach, you're already where you'd want to be. That to me is a perfect sighting.
It's weird, I went to BFRO to see what other sightings take place in Arizona. There is definitely something wrong with BFRO's database because not all reports are coming up. At first I thought it was because I had it set to bring up only for A or B settings, but in fact I didn't even see that option. In my state of Minnesota there are 28 sightings in their database and only 3 came up (and there was a mixture of A&B). I notice they've been making some changes to their website so maybe something got screwed up or maybe I did something wrong. Just cause I mentioned it, I'll go into it again and it will work.
Note! I just went to BFRO again and they have a whole new format and I didn't realize it. Interesting!

Hey Jon, thanks for posting your friend's sighting. We just moved to Arkansas, Polk county and live just west of Mena. Camera and camcorder are allways in our vehicles even if it's just a run into town.
One of these days, we'll be at the right place, at the right time.
It's pure chance.
This area is perfect habitat for these critters.

How did she feel afterward? Was she afraid or did it give her the creeps or what?
If I ever had a sighting that clear on the side of the road, I'd want to go back again and again to check things out. Has she been back yet?

Just an update:
As of Sunday, I have been unable to make contact with the witness. But today's weather was pleasant enough to part from the armchair's and hit the woods.
Myself, Scotto, my husband Charlie and son Chas drove the short distance to Dallas. Not knowing the specific details of the sighting location, we scouted places of interest trying to match up areas in regards to what Jon had posted in reference to a hilly area, high bank on one side of the road and a drop off embankment on the opposite.
We also scouted a few game trails in the hopes of finding tracks, but the terrain is difficult, very hard packed and rocky making it almost impossible to find any type of animal prints.
We decided to search the creek beds and muddy areas that still had standing water from last weeks heavy rainfall. Nothing unusual was discovered other than some heavy machinery ruts and some scuff marks along a creek bed that were due to normal animal activity.
In one area a game trail was noticed off the road coming down an embankment, the 4 strand barbed wire fencing that bordered the property was examined for any possible hair snags.
This area is what many would consider prime habitat for these animals, there are national forest boundaries, areas of dense woods and limited human population. Even though the area had been in a drought, there are numerous creeks that still maintain a natural water supply.
I was truly impressed with the steep grade drop offs. (scary) In many areas that we explored, I would not be exagerating to say that some dropoffs were 40-50 foot, if not deeper.
I also learned my first lesson today about Arkansas mud puddles.
One of the many creek areas.
This pic shows a forestry road. The drop off on the left side was extremely steep and deep.

We also went and looked at the sighting spot, for report #9, in SRI
http://www.sasquatchonline.com/core/pubreportview.php?id=9 This is about a rugged as it gets, you can't do this drive without a truck. This was in the Kiamichi's in LeFlore County, OK.
A major game trail is still seen at the exact sighting spot.
Had a great time with Louisa and her family, was good to get out and see this beautiful country here.
*edited to add, I wouldn't mind showing others this area. However, you need to be in great physical condition if you intend to explore here. I am disabled due to a back injury and walk with a cane. There is no way humanly possible for me to do anything but stay on the road! (road used loosely!)

A few pics in reference to the area that Scotto mentions.
Truly an amazing rugged area.
One pic is of Scotto, Charles and son in background. The other is of Charles checking out a rock slide area. (Awesome terrain)
The drop off's in these areas are more severe than the first location.
( I hate heights, lol)

You look at the habitat in the picture and think of the color of BF and people wonder why no one can get any good pictures? I sure don't wonder. How many reports have we seen where someone thought they were looking at a tree stump until the BF moved? Many, many times. These critters are experts at camoflague. Scotto, those are some nice pictures you put up.

I do believe it was the sighting of a friend. Perhaps they will make or have made a report. If a report has already been made it might not necessarily be with the SRI - it might be with the association of their own state and their association may not be a member with SRI.

Louisa posted that we checked out the area which this thread was first started, in Polk County, near Mena Arkansas.
Then I added we ALSO went to check out the spot for sighting #9 in SRI's CoRE database that is also near Mena, but is just across the border in Leflore County, OK.
Maybe it did get a little confusing since two different reports were mentioned, we were just presenting what we did on Sunday as a team.
