Seattle Museum of the Mysteries presents the
Alaska Mystery Cruise 2006
May 7-14th
featuring the 2nd annual Seattle Sasquatch Symposium
aboard Holland America’s MS Westerdam.

The cruise which will follow the coastline of Alaska and allow for
great searching of animals on the shoreline from the deck will feature
a hike and presentation by author, researcher and Naturalist
Robert Alley of "Raincoast Sasquatch".
Plans are for a hike around Harriet Lake, Ketchikan and a discussion at the US Forest Service museum.
Deck Search Parties are planned - a get together of photographers and videographers to search the shoreline for Sasquatch and other animals such as the rare white bear.
A good opportunity for a discount cruise and conference and for those that may be
physically limited or would like to bring their family on a safe expedition.
Sign up before Feb. 21!

Hint noted! smile.gif Who did you have in mind?
This is the first year the Seattle museum is trying the cruise and will first see how
registration goes. It is likely more speakers will be added in the following years. The
cruise itself aside from the symposium is a great way to meet other researchers and
to see the wilderness.

Holy crap! I can see a bigfoot right there in this photo from their website! Should be an eventful cruise...

Um...me! Surely I haven't bored enough people yet with my Hairy Man pictographs and traditional Native American Bigfoot stories research yet!

I wish!
Am hoping to at least see some moose or some eagles.
I'll probably be too awestruck by the vast Alaska mountains and scenery and the wide
open ocean sunsets.

Wow, this has potential! My wife has been wanting to go on an Alaskan Cruise and I wanted to check out Canada and Alaska areas for bigfoot. This is a truly a dream come true. Plus since I'm working on a bigfoot book I can probably write off a lot of the trip. Honey, do you want to go on a cruise?LOL
Charlette
Can't think of a better Valentines Day present!

The museum is a non-profit and received a group discount
so the price which includes the conference remains low,
- its like getting a free conference.
The cruise covers the cabins (your hotel room), all the meals and entertainment not
to mention the voyage to Alaska for the price of an average
hotel room, so I think its a good deal.

I just read the meal service (and have to admit one of the main
reason's I'm going):

"In addition to breakfast, lunch and a five-course dinner, you can enjoy: afternoon
tea; an outdoor buffet bar featuring hamburgers and hot dogs; a taco bar, stirfy or pasta buffet,; an ice cream bar; hot hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hours; an evening espresso or cappuccino; and the traditional late-night snack (one of which will be our Dutch Chocolate Extravaganza). And of course complimentary room service is available 24 hours a day."

Just what I need! an evening espresso so I can stay up late with my camera!
Essentially, I believe its all the food you can eat, or want to eat, or don't need to eat.
With all that going on, perhaps a Sasquatch will join us!

Well I made the plunge and made reservations for my wife and myself on the cruise. She's always wanted to go on a cruise to Alaska and I owed her one for putting up with all my shananigans over the years. We'll both get to see Alaska w/ a little armchair squatchin on the side. Any one else here signed up? Hope a few of you join in too! I guess I may have to give myself official armchair researcher status after this trip....oh the horror! new_specool.gif

Found out from the travel agent we will need our birth certificate and drivers license to get into Canada. I understand that starting in 2007 you will actually need a passport to visit Canda. Part of the new rules we now live by. :new_whistle:
MooseMan
I live in Canada and as far as I know you guys need a passport to get back to the states, we don't require you to have one to come up. ...like it matters, though. Still need one either way.
socaldave
Thanks Mooseman for the info. I've been getting conflicting reports on all this so it probably would be a good idea to get a passport. Then again in they won't let me in I might just stay awhile in your beautiful cuntry...aye? new_specool.gif

Great viewing decks - check out the video and 360 panoramic views at:
http://www.experience-hollandamerica.com/s...erdam/index.php
The loft looks like really private but am really interested in the Crow's nest or the Erasmus library
and Explorer's cafe.

We might plan an easier Interpretive walk off the boat in Ketchikan to the USFS Discovery Center with author Robert Alley.

I'm getting hyped about this.
Charlette
Ahoy! The ship is all booked up!
We set sail May 7th and will post photos.

If ye be thinking of next year you can bet we will be
a searching for a hardy 3-4 day cruise that can take
on a hardy search crew.
socaldave
Looking forward to it! new_specool.gif
socaldave
Well things are getting close mates. My wife is buying me these nice clothes so I don't look like a bum and so they'll let me in the dining room at night. But in the daytime.... I'll be prowling the galley ways in my jeans or cammies! new_specool.gif
socaldave
Well despite a workweek w/ the usual busy things to do, I am trying to pack for this arm chair bigfoot cruise. After packing up the trailer for backwoods bigfooting these last few years, it seems strange to pack a suit and tie. Why? Because my wife informed me that I will not be allowed in for dinner on several nights if not properly attired. So I guess cammies won't cut it at the night time chuckwagon/boat. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for Oregon! new_specool.gif

Regarding Sasquatch, it was a real treat getting an informative hike by Robert Alley of Raincoast Sasquatch - a top researcher in what he considered to be the most active region in Alaska and Canada. He showed us
around the many places he has received reports. One highlight was a reflective sign post that was knocked
down and has what could be Sasquatch hand marks.
More photos and details posted on the Seattle Museum of the Mysterie's website.
Charlette
Here is a detail of the sign.
The force knocked the sign down at the base at a 45 degree angle. It has been reset and a rope now holds it upright.
Note the sign is behind the railing making it nearly impossible for it to have been a car and
the size difference in finger width in what could be larger finger pads.
My bottom small finger width is exactly one half inch in width, middle and ring finger nine sixteenth's inches wide.
No fingerprints or details are noticed
Also note the prints are not dirt or oil but take on the color of the underlying metal as it appears that something rough took off the coating and corrosin and the darkness of the metal is showing through.

This is myself and my associate Philip Lipson at Ward Lake and the site of many encounters related in Robert Alley's book Raincoast Sasquatch.
In particular page 39 where a woman and her group had sought safety in one of the shelters seen in the photo in the background.
