Full Version: What Can We Do?

is it concivible that independent researchers can create an area that sasquatches can "remember" or "recognize" as an area that there is always food. can we bait an area in the winter, then when it is closer to summer PLANT something that equals food to them. not sure what, maybe some berry bushes or introduce something that they dont normally have, like corn or peas. if a group or someone has "recognized" an area of "possible" sasquatch activity then they can increase their chances of a "sighting" or other evidence being collected through this technique. anyways, just a thought. i think i am going to try this, see what happens. what do u think?? not that i care ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif

Good idea. Maybe just show up occasionally and string a line and hang opened cans of vegetables out of reach of other critters.

Don't forget the CD-Rs for the stringline... new_whistle.gif

Thomas Powell is doing that right now in Oregon. His whole 10-acre yard is a giant garden, chicken farm, bee-boxes etc rigged with cameras. The earth around some of the vegetables is kept fluffy to get any tracks which might come through.

There have been things knock the cameras down, as well as other strange things happening.

exact thoughts are: leave bait for an extended period of time, with no game cams. then gradually put monitoring equipment in baiting area. then PLANT vegtables. the dirt around vegtables would be "worked" so naturally it would be ideal for tracks. also might get teeth marks in bait. i am thinking of something that would keep dental marks in it, something hard. i dont know, maybe a coconut. just a thought.... ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif

The tough thing about baiting or cam traps are that some other jerk comes along an either destroys your potential print area or steals your cam. I try to camp in those areas to check on my gear. What your doing I think would work as long as there is no chance of anybody contanminating your expiremnet area. Probably would be best to keep your area to your self. I think I have a good habitat area that is visited by BFs every 5-7 years in the winter. So long term food baiting wouldnt work there. Good luck with yours.

The area I have looking in is human free from Nov. thru April it is snowed in. Unless you have snow shoes & a snowmobile you cant get in. The reason why I thought it was a potential habitat area is because I have expirienced pinecones and chunks a bark thrown at me and my family in april when the snow starts to thaw. I own a hummer and we can get in furtur than most people. Object throwing has happened every 5-7 years. 2006 thru 2008 are the years I think my habitat area is most active. This year howver, with so much rain and warmer temps you can still drive in this area. I will be doing some night drives. But my best results have been when hiking and talking at normal levels with my kids ( usually yelling at them ) and then some bark will hit the trail in front of us.

Sounds like the kids have backup..... new_weirdsmiley.gif

If you tell people you have put the camerus up for Bigfoot there is a bigger risk that they get knocked down.

If you don't tell anyone and hide them (in a box or something), than at least you should be able to film whatever knocked it down.

I cant recall the name of the peas that Timberghost planted in Honobia ...
But they seemed to attract the deer, which is what appears to have attracted the squatch ... and resulted in that whole mess. Which would be cool to duplicate cool.gif
(But handled differently, not a bash on TG, just sayin') new_whistle.gif

I believe they were called Austrian snow peas, or something to that effect(correct me if I missed it TG) . Alot of hunters in my part of the world plant Iron- Clay Cowpeas in their food plots, because of the ease of growing and they attract the heck outta deer.

Nighthunter,

Sure, your idea of baiting an area is conceivable, now how feasable it is, is the billion dollar question. here in Texas, we do this all the time for deer hunting, go to happy mart and buy a tripod automatic feeder and try to keep it full of corn all year.

I think this would be your biggest problem "keeping the feeder full". Food plot would take a lot more work but would probably paid off more in the long run. Problem with both scenerios is getting all your equipment, supplies far enough off the road so to discourage human damage or thieft.

again good concept though if you can make it happen.

Hope you & Elder can get out there & beat the bushes together sometime.
You lucky dogs live in the ideal region for Field Research !

saskwatcher- not sure what u mean when u say"hook-up"?????? I belive that this can work. the area i am considering baiting has had, all within a 5 mile radius-1) tracks found.2)a possible sighting.) 3) indivudual seeing "some-thing" dark, move in his periphal vision. 4) two individuals feeling "of being watched". 5) man camping at camp ground have his camper"shook" at 4am. 6) before camper was shook, for some reason "woke up". 7) whatever shook his camper did it"with ease". 8) and recently finding "tree twists". also this is in the lower Cascade Range in Wa. state. If their is a "crossing-over" area and it is said to be, than this is a conciveable theroy. Also, if the bait and game cam is put in an area where man wouldnt normally walk then it is a good idea. As far as re-baiting area, one of us lives within 30 to 45 minutes of area. Thanks all for other ideas and comments, I belive i have a plan. And a having a plan makes initating idea alot easier. ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif

One more thing to add to that five mile radius. Vocalizations were heard. Moan-howls.

Give it a shot. Now is probably best before all the picnic-ers run all over the area. Since we broke bush there it is a promising spot. I plan on baiting in April. Salmon and berries? Who knows what else. Seems the Safeway will dictate what I plan to use as bait. LOL Take it light.

Sorry dude. The pickles we put out in our area are still there after four months. They are frozen too.

We're still good til the end of April. My van got shook the first time last April 23? Anyways, it was the end of the month and one other family was camping next to the spot where you heard the vocalization.

Kelly,
Guess Biggies do not like pickles. Maybe they prefer Sweet Gerkins?
Heard from Jacob you got your "willey" smacked by the administrators, for being a pottey-mouth! :new_weirdsmiley:
