After a discussion with the other mods, we decided that in future, we will allow users to change their usernames, but with a couple of provisions.

1. There must be a good reason for it - eg. you want to be known by your real name instead of a 'handle', or want username to reflect that of your family members (SoCalDave and SoCalJake are a good example).

2. Your 'title' will read 'Previously known as 'OLD NAME' for a period of three months following the name change.

3. The mods will discuss all name changes, and announce them in this thread - all name changes are at the discretion of the moderating team - you do not have a right to change your username.

4. Name changes will not be permitted if it will cause too much confusion.

5. Only ONE name change per member will be considered.

6. You may not suggest name changes for other members


Any requests for username changes should be sent via PM to me.

I offered Craig Woolheater my name a while back. When I joined I didn't know who he or the TBRC was (or that I was dealing with "The Great One"). If he still wants it, I can be "He who shall not be named". I hear that one has recently become available.

FYI, I've heard some people think Craig named himself The Great One. Not True. In fact, I gave him that title in Pocatello, ID.


As a matter of policy, we don't remove posts after they're made. Accounts, once created, don't go away. Even if we did delete an account, the posts made by that person would remain. So there's really no reason to "cancel" an account.

If possible, can I have my name changed to "Poo Commander"? If it can't be done, or is already taken that's fine. But I've always secretly adored the possibility of representing such a cool name.
