Bukwas

 Maybe someone can help me with this. Years ago there was a BF documentary that showed a man sitting behind his drum set banging away at it in the middle of the woods. He claimed it was his way to attract a BF.... Can anyone remember this and also has anyone heard of any other unusual methods of attracting a sassy?

Bukwas, That documentry was on the air in 1995 I believe? And the drummer was none other than Henry Franzoni. I have not heard from him for sometime now. I don't even know if he still lives in Oregon, or is still involved in the sasquatch question. but he was quite active in the 1990s.

P.S. As far as I know the drums didn't work.

I Don't Want To Work
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
I Don't Want To Play
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
Ever since I was a tiny boy
I don't want no candy
I don't need no toy
I took a stick and an old coffee can
I bang on that thing 'til I got
Blisters on my hand because
CHORUS
I Don't Want To Work
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
I Don't Want To Play
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
When I get older they think I'm a fool
The teacher told me I should stay after school
She caught me pounding on the desk with my hands
But my licks was so hot
I made the teacher wanna dance
And that's why
CHORUS
I Don't Want To Work
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
I Don't Want To Play
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
BREAK
CHORUS
I Don't Want To Work
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
I Don't Want To Play
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
Listen to this
Every day when I get home from work
I feel so frustrated
The boss is a jerk
And I get my sticks and go out to the shed
And I pound on that drum like it was the boss's head
Because
CHORUS 4X
I Don't Want To Work
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day
I Don't Want To Play
I Just Want To Bang On The Drum All Day

I heard that Spinal Tap hired him and that during their first concert together, sadly, he burst into flames . He will be missed.

Sas was handling the drums for Tenacious D, but that didn't pan out too well.

Just want to say that Henry is quite an amazing guy with many interesting ideas- though I suspect drumming for bigfoot wasn't his most enlightened

. Many other ideas are also considered fringe by the mainstream (including me), but he is a very intelligent, well versed man who deserves a lot of our respect.
... and I agree that Tenacious D rocks, especially with the Sasquatch song.

Cactusbutt-
I think the name of that documentary was "The Bigfoot Monster Mystery", at least when it aired on TV in the States.

Yes, the show was called Bigfoot Monster Mystery. I have it in my collection. It was a Chanel Four production (English t.v) in the series 'To The Ends Of The Earth'. It followed English wildlife cameraman John Waters in his search around Oregon.
The 'To The Ends Of The Earth' series also later made a documentary about the Yeti in Bhutan and this was the expedition where they brought back the hair sample which cannot be identified.

Perhaps I should drag my bass and my amp out into the woods and play some of Metallica's The Thing That Should Not Be.

I have my own experience that I would like to add to this thread as it is related to music attracting an animal.
During my mid twenties, I was a hippy and a musician. I lived in a cabin in the woods on the edge of 300 acres of forest, near the top of a small mountain in New Hampshire. I had just recently purchased a large string bass and would often bring it outside and practice with it on the edge of the beaver pond that the cabin was next to. One bright sunny day, as I was practicing using the bow on the bass for about an hour at the pond, I heard a big spash about 100 yards off to my left and across the other side of the pond. It turns out that a large moose cow had come to see what was making the noise! I was very surprised and stopped playing as I didn't want to attract it any closer than that. The moose hung around briefly and then slipped back into the woods, slowly walking away.
My mother later told me that dairy cows behave in a similar way and will come to see what is making strange sounds. I am sure there are probably sounds that a Bigfoot would also be curious about. Perhaps the String Bass too!

Just don't play 'Enter Sandman'. You might scare them off.

I saw the show in question, and I think I have it on tape, too. Been a while since that was aired.
