There is a condition which is thought to create extremely hairy humans, I don't know anything about it. Here are some photos:

This boy is from Kazachstan which is a vast wilderness, where an ape-like creature is thought to roam.

I think this boy is from Mexico. His face reminds me of the patterson and gimlin ape.

Is it out the realm of possibility that their ancestors could have interbred with sasquatch? icon_blob.gif

Probably not anymore out of the realm than that they interbred with gorillas, but neither would have simply caused this condition.

These cases are usually classified as hypertrichosis universalis- read about it here:

there was a special on Discovery or TLC about the condition.. two brothers in mexico have it--they are circus performers. saw the special probably 5-6 years ago don't know if any new information has come up since.

here's a link about the brothers

You're rigth, it isn't thumbup.gif

(I was kidding, by mimicking the *regular* BF skeptics who throw away what doesn't fit their pre-conceptions, really sorry I bothered you )

Actually, this feature show how adaptable human-beings are IMHO

Imagine that, for some reasons, having a fur coated face should become an huge
advantage in bearing adverse weather conditions or whatever, the people suffering this hairiness would live longer, grow more kids, and thousand years later (providing the conditions woudn't change again) every human being would look like this.

Some people seem to think that God couldn't have design His creatures to evolve from their original state.
I would advocate, on the contrary, that evolution may be His most wonderfull gift, some kind of unarguable evidence that life is stronger than death

Here is some info on Fedor Jeftichew AKA Jojo the dog-faced boy/man.

I have always been interested in his story. He and his father both suffered from Hypertrichosis. Although both men were educated (speaking several languages each) they went along with PT Barnum's ploy that they had been captured as wildmen and "Jojo" would act like a dog upon command. Fedor was one of the most famous of Barnum's acts and it made them both very famous. I am guessing they were paid well too.

There was also an American women named Alice Doherty who was born in the 1880's with this condition. She was shown off at an early age and billed as the "The Minnesota Woolly Baby"
