So let's assume BF will be accepted by science one day due to a live capture. With this acceptance how will science proceed? The public will have lots of questions and how will they be answered?

One question in particular I can think of is BF population numbers in each state. How will science answer this question? We have other animal population numbers but with the elusive BF I wonder how this will be determined.

Should we change our thinking to correspond to how questions can be answered After science has accepted the existence? I am wondering how I should be planning for future expeditions just in case someone (Biscardi) (just kidding) actually captures one and the direction of BF investigations changes forever.
