Here's a link to my paper that analyzes the possibility of black bear misidentification as a cause of the Bigfoot phenomenon:

Very well donje. Found it interesting the states with low bear count and a large number of reports like Texas and Ohio. Keep up the good work. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Yes, I'd say that's another nail in the coffin of the "misidentification of bears" nonexplanation. Stay tuned for the final nail.

Blight,

Now we are talkin! Real data! thumbup.gif

I have a question. What is the likelyhood of the black bear population numbers being accurate? I mean how do the numbers exist, who records them and how do we know they are real numbers?

The reason I ask is because I have recently been told that Kangaroo exist in the US. I about fell over laughing but if this is true why are there no numbers showing how many kangaroo exist in each state?

Just asking for some opinions, not going to hold anybody down to the numbers or anything. cool.gif

Great post Blight! Thank you.

Good question.

I know that here in Alaska the Dept. Fish & Game do species counts, and it's very interesting how they do them for the different species. Management reports are then prepared and filed for the Board of Game every couple of years (and sometimes annually) for the various species.

I find them interesting to read:
