How come eyewitness testimony is good enough to put people in jail for life, and get the death penalty... But it is not adequate to garnish support from "mainstream" scientist or government to launch an active investigation into the possibility of bigfoot actually existing? isnt this a double standard???

if I walk into a police station and say " i just saw a man with a gun " there will be a large scale investigation... Even if I lied. If I walk in and say " I just saw bigfoot " I will probably get laughed at. Even if I told the truth.

Am I the only one irritated by this??

And...

I am new so I have to ask... Isnt 300 seconds (5 minutes!!!) a little excessive for flood control!?!? 1, 2, maybe 3 minutes I can understand... But if you want to post 6 messages and get off you literally have to wait online for half an hour? Can we petition our forum admins to modify this just a little?? Or am I the only one waiting 5 minutes between posts????

Your having to wait 5 minutes between post's? Oh wow! Yea, I have'nt been having any problems myself. Most of the time's its about 3-5 seconds that I wait after I post something before I can start browsing the forum again. Even when my computer is having a bad hair day maybe 15-20 seconds max! Im not too sure what advice to give you. It may be a virus in your computer or maybe you can PM a Amd. or Mod. and see what they might be able to tell you. Sorry Im not much help to you. Good luck.

Sounds like spyware! I never have had to wait between post except when my computor was so contaminated with spyware that even changing web pages could cause it to lock up. Go download search and destroy. Best free adware,spyware eliminator program on the net. IMO

I can browse fine but I have to wait 5 minutes between posting. For example, I may have 2 or 3 threads I am following and would like to reply and move on with life. The way it is configured, I can read the threads but if I *post* I have to wait 5 minutes before I can post again (this isnt a virus .. bff says "sorry, flood control enabled please wait 300 seconds before posting). This is terribly inconvenient for such an interesting board. I also have to wait 300 seconds between searches. For example, if I click "view new posts" and then change my mind and click "my assistant" to see if someone replied to my posts.. When I try to click on a link from my assistant it says "sorry flood control enabled wait 300 seconds between searches). It is kind of irritating.

I dont mean to complain and I guess I can sometimes be impatient. But I consider my self to be an efficient web surfer and with years of practice I have gotten pretty good at "scanning" webpages to identify information I am interested in. That includes the forums. If it wasnt for the mandatory waiting between posts I could usually be on and off in no less than 15 minutes

I don't know where you live, but here if you say "I just saw a man with a gun" the police will say "So?". Testimony alone won't put somebody in jail especially if the other person has a different story, it only makes a difference when you have a witness, or better yet evidence. And if you lie, and get caught? You're going to jail.

Even a confession by an alleged perpetrator is not enough for conviction by itself. Even a "confession" has to have corroborating evidence and/or additional testimony from other witnesses for a conviction.

Also, Bigfoot's existence is at best unproven as far as the majority of the population is concerned. Human criminal behavior on the other hand is a well known and documented occurence.

As far as the police are concerned they are just playing the odds of what's worth their effort and what's not. Nothing personal.

Find an individual officer who believes there might be something to Bigfoot and you will more likely get a better, if discreet, result.

Just imagine how many Police & Miltary sightings that go unreported......
for obvious reasons.

That is why I am here on this forum. Where else can you go and talk about BF without people laughing at you. This is quite a relief to have a website for us believers to gather around and logically discuss this stuff. I tried to get the guys at work and even get my wife to discuss BF but nobody wants to play. Very frustrating!!!!

I was up near Mt. St Helens last year in heavy BF activity areas, looking around, seeing nothing (darnit!!!). I stopped at a very small secluded convenience store and asked the clerk if he had heard of any BF reports in the area. He laughed at me and said "Well NO!" I felt so stupid. Here I am in heavy activity area with no support!

If the accused has left his fingerprints and DNA at the scene of the crime, which do you believe; the physical evidence or his pleas of "I didn't do it"?

If science accepted anecdotal evidence as sufficient then we would have to accept the existence of elves, fairies, brownies, and other wee folk.

In all fairness though, I do believe in park fairies. I SEEN 'UM!

I asked some ol' boy at a country store (NOT Monster Mart) if they had any "Boggy Creek" souvenirs.... The place went dead silent & all eyes were on me....(Like that scene from "Animal House" !!).
Ol' Dude says, "NO ! We don't carry that s**t 'round here !!!", and gave me a look like I was something he had scraped off of his boot !!
OOO-KAY...see ya !!! and I was outta there !!!
