Actually, a pretty good drawing. Reminds me of those apes that lack hair on their hineys.

Yes, I expect this thread to go to pieces in a hurry. :edit:

I'll say as far as witness sketches go that's not a bad one.

Kinda reminded me of the way David Mann would have depicted bigfoot just needs to be straddling a Harley.

Sorry folks....but  it's got to be said:

This is no doubt a little bit strange as far as reports go. I wander myself if it was me there I do not think I would have been looking at the same as reporter of this. But, who knows ? :censored: This has got to be the first.

Sort of reminds me of the bear in the John Candy movie, one of my favorites, "The Great Outdoors".

Or those guys in the West Village that wear chaps - ie, sans the butt flap.

Please - no cards or letters. Only a flash that appeared.

So, maybe instead of working to enhance the face in the Patterson footage, we could work at the other end, that could prove it is not a suit.

Unfortunatly, the butt in the bigfoot drawing looks like mine after sitting here all day in front of my computer reading the BFF :yuck: :willies: biggrin.gif

The creature in this sighting fits the general description of the creature that JVD and his brother saw.....Grayish in color and shaggy.

As I did on the BD Forum, I'll take credit for this report. I submitted it to the TBRC last May. I spoke with Daryl Colyer last month, and I am going to take him to the site in a couple of months. I will be happy to answer any questions.

I just read this report today, and found it extremely interesting, especially the fact that he thought he was seeing a wild hog at first, and then he realized the creature was on all fours while he was trailing it.

I was surprised that the report said he wasn't armed, yet he continued to follow the creature despite his fear! That's one thing that didn't quite ring true, but I'm not trying to be nitpicky since this seems like an honest sighting.

The report says that he was afraid to hunt or fish for some time afterward, which would be natural. My question is this: Has he ever gone back to that particular place to hunt or fish? Or does he avoid that area.

Great sighting - all "butt" jokes aside. biggrin.gif

It's a fact I did not have a firearm that day, but I did have my "trusy rusty" machete. It's not much to look at, but I keep it very sharp. As for "following" the animal, that was not my intention at all. I was going to move to the spot it walked out from, which would have given me a view of the lower river bank and the crossing. I really just wanted to make sure it wasn't trying to double back down the river, because I was going back the same direction. As soon as I would have know it's direction ( and if it had crossed the river I probably would have watched it until it was out of sight), I would have been gone. I had no intentions of following it.

I have been back to the area many times. I just took me awhile to realize bigfoot is just another large, hairy animal. I never really thought these things were for real. It was a shock to find out I was wrong.

Wow! I'll take that as a complement. If I were an artist (and I'm am not) I would concider it an honor to be a pimple on the a$$ of the late, great David Mann.

Here's my favorite....

Cool post Wooley. thumbup.gif You said you've been back to that area since, anything else wondering around lately? The snap you heard directly behind you, could it have been another?

I haven't seen anything yet, but now that I know what to look for I believe at some point I will see one again. As for the "snap" I heard, I don't know what made the sound. It was the sound of dry wood breaking. I could have been another one, but it could also have been a deer, hog or even a honeybear. I didn't stay to find out.

Because of it's shaggy appearance I had begun to believe it was an emu or maybe two. I know this sounds strange, but a couple of weeks earlier, a man in one of the hunting clubs up the road told me someone had emptied a cattle trailer full of unwanted emus in their club and I was convinced this is what I was looking at.

I guess it's possible for bigfoot to eat an emu. If they can kill deer, they could certainly kill something as stupid as an emu. Did the released birds mate and create a new food source? Not likely. Not with all the trigger happy Metro- Rednecks and weekend warriors that over run the woods here in November. I just hope someone ate them. Emu meat is tasty, kind of like brisket. biggrin.gif

WooleyBooger: I'm sorry - I didn't understand your original post when you said you "took credit" for the sighting and turned it in somewhere. I thought you meant that you had written down a report from someone and turned it in for them! doh!

OK - glad that is cleared up.

All I can say is that if I were out in the woods armed only with a rusty machete and I thought I saw Bigfoot, it would be like an episode of the Roadrunner - you wouldn't even see me, I'd be out of there so fast! icon_surprised.gif

As far as emus go - I wouldn't want to meet one of those in the woods either. Can't they kick hard enough to hurt a human?

A cornered emu can kick forward with tremendous power, often breaking their opponents' legs and/or tearing flesh with the large toe nails.

Hi WooleyBooger how are you? sorry if I offended you about the emu joke...wasn't trying to make fun of your report...I think your report is very credible and very precise and detailed. thumbup.gif
When I read that they had emptied a whole trailer of Emus in that area...I immediately though bigfoot must have seen that and got hungry...seems easy for bigfoot to just grab the emus long neck and twist it like they twist those tree branches....Emus are pretty cool though...very unique...I remember stopping on the side of the road and beside this fence there was tall grass like at least 5-6ft tall...and all of a sudden we saw like 5 or 6 long necks came out above the tall grass....all looking at us curiously...I remembered how they looked like dinosaurs!
Ocoee
There is actually a farm a few miles from me where they raise emus! They are alot taller than you would think, and they really do look like raptors from Jurassic Park. I don't know why Southerners are so attracted to that sort of thing - I knew a woman once who thought she was going to get rich raising Ostriches, too. Um - it didn't work out, lol. laugh.gif She kept her day job, lol.

Back to the actual sighting:

Wooley Booger, I was wondering if you could share any of the second hand stories you have heard from other people. That would be interesting!

No offence taken at all. I thought your post was funny. TKD replied with a quote from my report, so I thought he wanted to know what I thought about emu as a food source. I will stick to what I said though, emus are tasty! laugh.gif blink.gif :yuck:

4 or 5 years ago, a ways down the road from us, there was a family who were raising ostriches. It didn't appear to be all that big of an operation, though, so I dunno if their intent was to eventually go commercial, or just raise a few for themselves and perhaps friends and/or other family members (pit-roasted Thanksgiving turkey - or else "You'll never guess what we're givin' ya for Christmas this year!" biggrin.gif). Anyway, one day we were drivin' by the place and noticed all them Texas hummin'birds was gone. Maybe they acquired a bigger ranch somplace, or else were just done with `em. All I know is we never saw those big ol' birdies there again. Kinda sad, too, `cause we do miss seein' the feathery dinos (beat the usual geese and ducks). - I guess they can be a bit perilous to raise all right. North of us, along the I-5, up in Winston, there is a safari park called "Wildlife Safari", which features a walking safari through various sections. Visitors participating in these "walkabouts" are always cautioned the most potentially dangerous creatures there are the ostriches.

Hey congrats on the sighting. I know first hand the courage it takes to step up and say that you saw something. Did you feel threatened is that why you quit following, or was it a combination of the sounds and the shock of trying to deal with seeing a new creature? Ringo

Until I heard the loud "snap" back in the woods, I thought I was having an unbelievable experience with one bigfoot. When I heard that sound, I realized where there is one, there must be at least two more---some where. At the time, I wasn't going to hang around to find out where they were. All I can say is, it was time to leave.
