New class B encounter listed on the BFRO.
Woman experiences rock throwing, vocalizationsNow if this in fact
was a BF throwing rocks,
WHY would it do this? I assume she was walking near her home, so its not like she was way out of place where she was. Not like she was invading strange territory, like on a camping trip or something.
Is it possible that these creatures are just plain curious as to what our reactions will be if they throw rocks?

That's kinda what I'm thinking. I think Bigfoot wants to know our reaction to different things for example, Rock Throwing.

I'm thinking moreless in terratorial means here. "Your in his terf and he's warning you", kinda thing. But then again, old Bigfoot may be saying to himself,"Im going to throw this rock at this person and scare the heck out of him/her!!"

If a bigfoot throws a rock at a person to see what kind of reaction it will get out of the human, I can see a new topic coming "Does Bigfoot Have A Sence of Humor"

That was actually discussed here. Because of the reports from people who were pelted with tiny little pebbles ( while fishing or just waiting for game to come by. )
Obviously it was not a major warning..but maybe it was a gentle hint?
Or it could have been just teasing to get a reaction.
Personally I think that animals do have a sense of play and fun.

I feel like they just like to have fun. I have wolves that will jump up and grab the small limbs out of my trees. They don't want anything out of the trees, they're just playing with the limbs. One of them will see another do it and pretty soon I have three or four of them jumping up into the trees after the outermost limbs. If they get hold of one they will play tug of war pulling on it. I'm at a loss to determine why they do that unless they are playing.
Primates are known to play, aren't they? In my opinion they are either playing by throwing small rocks or they are trying to move us along out of their territory without just downright scare tactics.
Just my two pennies.

I think sometimes BF just wants you to know that it is there, near you, and sometimes it wants to let you know it is aware of your presence. I base the meaning of any rock throwing on two things: where I am and how big the rocks are.

I just had to post this.
I am not saying this is BF related but very interesting info that I wanted to post. Read the BFRO report number 10284 (Crawford county Indiana). I had a similar experience with rocks being thrown towards me.
I was fishing at night with a buddy of mine, I think it was summer 2000. We were on Arbuckle lake in Oklahoma. It was probably somewhere close to midnight. I marked a map with red Xs showing where we were approximately. We were working the bank for bass when large rocks (something large) began hitting the water in front of the boat. I would have to estimate about 100 feet maybe but not totally sure. This continued for several minutes. I thought it sounded exactly like what is described in this BFRO report mentioned above. It could have been bowling ball size rocks. What is really weird is that I do not remember there being a cliff or anything these rocks could be naturally falling into the water from. We did not hear any screams, bad smells, nothing. Just something pounding the water. I decided to leave after I think it was 15 to 30 minutes of this activity. I do believe it began getting closer or should I say we were moving in the direction of the rock throwing. I was trolling the boat about 10 feet from the shoreline.
When this was happening I actually thought it was a beaver. I have seen beavers slap their tail in the water and create the exact same type of splash. This was a very deep splash that sounded like a heavy object but I am no expert on beaver splashing and it could have very well been that.
I just wanted to post this info for anyone in the Arbuckle lake area. And included a great map of the location we were in. I marked two possible locations. I just remember seeing nothing but heavy brush lining the bank. It was dark and we were not using any flashlights (lights scare away bass by the way).

Hi QSECOFR. Arbuckle Lake is not far from the ranch where I saw BF. There have been several sightings in this area. I wish I had know this when I still lived in Oklahoma.

My hubby loves to throw rocks into the bushes to scare our dog.
One day when I was walking him ( we were having an active yowie period) the dog seemed to be responding to something in the bush. I could hear a bit of movement and when the dog came back to check on me he looked towards the bush and back at me.
I said it's ok I know somethings there, the dog ran back into the bush and a rock came out and crashed into the tree on the other side of the track, like what my hubby would normally do. ( Hubby was at work)
It spooked me a bit but I continued our walk. The dog wasn't threatened at all and yet other times when somethings around he acts quite threatened and wants to leave. They're the times I also pick the speed up also, I think dogs are a good indicator of when something out of the ordinary is happening.

Has anyone thought it might have been kids throwing rocks. My kids are always picking stuff up and throwing it-especially rocks. They hit the neighbors car with a walnut. They didn't mean to hit it, but should not have been throwing in the first place. I find it funny how quick some believe that every stack of rocks, foot print, rock throwing, broken limbs are attributed to BF's.

With my experience kids very rarely go into the bush, plus the dog would have went straight up to them and sent them flying.

Just my two cents . . . I recently visited the Jane Goodall exhibit at the Manitoba Museum in Winnipeg. As part of the exhibit, there was an interactive (video) set up of chimpazees throwing sticks and rocks and banging on the trunks of trees to produce a sound. It caught my attention as these are similar to alleged Sasquatch activities. The reason for such actions by the chimpazees was to intimidate and to secure a ranking in the chimpazee social hierarchy . . . I beleive such behaviour was attributable to males of the species . . . food for thought in relation to similar alleged activity of the Sasquatch. I beleive Dr. Bindergal discusses this type of shared behaviour in his book.
