there is presently a new kolchak the night stalker series being filmed. the origional star darren mcgaven will be making a cameo or two. what i wonder is will there be a sasquatch type creature in an episode or two. there was one episode where a "bigfoot type of creature"[i use the phrase bigfoot type creature in its loosest meaning possible] it will be interesting to see what happens and what direction this new series takes.

:edit: to say he was digitally inserted into a scene in the first show as a tribute to the origional kolchak and the man who played him.

I loved the Kolchak: Nightstalker series too. I never miss it when the Sci Fi channel does the back to back episodes.

I watched The Night Stalker Series when I was kid. I am glad that there will be new Night Stalker Series in this Fall. Let's cross our fingers that bigfoot would be there but not silly, stuipd and kill people! Some of you might already know that Jersey Devil in the X-Files is wild people, who hide in the forest.The Jersey Devil is suppose to be like a creature with bat wings!

hi everyone i just finished watching the tv previews for new night stalker tv serie. yes that episode who said it was a animal looks like a great episode about sasquatch. i hope they do episodes about vampires werewolves etc. it looks like a great show. thanks bill green please keep me posted.

I just love the days that the scifi channel runs Night Stalker all day. They do it seems maybe 1 day every other month or so I would guess. I sit watching it all day lol.

I sure hope that the new one being made is half as good as the old one. It would be a shame if it turned out bad.

Saw today that this premires September 29. Sort of excited. My wife wonders: during the opening credits, will Kolchak be typing at a LAPTOP instead of a typewriter? My, how things have changed

I just went to see what was going to be on Sept 29 and it is the old Night Stalker that is on not the new one that date. At least that is what it shows on Scifi.com

No--the new series is actually on ABC. I think the slot is 9 Eastern on Thursday night.

Just watched the first one. I do not think it is near as good as the first one but it is a ok show and I would say I will watch it every week.
The story line about Kolchack is a lot different (The FBI thinks he killed his wife) I did not even know the main guy would have that name as on the site they just called it Night Stalker instead of the same name as before.

hi michan i agree with your post about the new night stalker serie first episode it was neat to see a cameo of darren macgvin standing in the newsroom smileing. i hope we see more cameos the orginal kolchack aka darren macgvin in more episodes of this great serie. i hope we get to see other orginal tv stars from night stalker in this new serie. also i hope we see vampires werewolfs zombies etc even.... yanos skorney the vampire make a cameo that would be a cameo. i do hope they do make a sasquatch episode soon. please keep me posted ok. bill

I agree--not as good as the first, but I think we all have a sentimental attachment to it. The cameo of D.M. was cool, Bill. It seems like this is a combination of original series, the X-Files, and CSI. I will watch next week before I make a final judgment: from the preview, it looks pretty violent. Honestly, that turns me off. One of the best things about both the original as well as the X-Files was that they mostly left the horror to your imagination.

Not a bad first show..a little slow. If I’m not mistaken Darin Magavin had a stroke.
The image of him in the show was a cut from the original show and inserted in the new one via a computer. The original show scared the crap out of me as a kid.

Yeah--it looked like it was spliced in, not a "live" cameo.

So how was it that he looked up at a cave opening on a cliff wall and then drove his Mustang into the cave for quite a ways?
