hi everyone here what i would like to know is has there been any new sasquatch activity in midwestern states resently becouse of the heatwaves and wicked weather. i think the weather is forceing the creatures to move aound more to look for water resources i hope everyone here can put some wonderful & honest input in this thread. thanks bill green p.s. has anyone here found any footprints in any midwestern states. smile.gif new_lmaosmiley.gif biggrin.gif

Hey Bill... we're all thinking those same things out here too. It's been unmercifully hot and humid here. The problem is, I'd think they've been resting and staying put during the hottest parts of the day and only getting out moving during the deeper night hours when it's dark and cooler.

We have a cool break coming after some storms, so maybe THAT will kick up some activity.

I sure hope so at least! thumbup.gif
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi guyinindiana thanks for the great reply. have you ever found possible sasquatch evidence such nests ,footprints , and hair samples after a heatwave came thoough your state. also do you contacted by good amount people who have possible sasquatch encounters dureing a heatwave. if i remember right i think john green s book sasquatch the apes among us had a couple sightings dureing wicked weather etc. thanks bill green. i hope you do find evidence always have your camera.
Goofyfooter
GuyInIndiana,

Bill has some great advice there about the camera. I you don't have a camera you should try to carry a pad of paper to draw a sketch and record your encounter so you can post it here.

Hey Goofy... thanks for the advice...

Any activity down there in your neck of the woods? Still carry your etch-a-sketch around for a camera?

Hi bill, I was having a great time at my B/F spot here in IL until just before the 4th of July fireworks started up. All the nearby farms, towns and clubs had a firework show or party. Then the hot weather moved in too. For the past two weeks now I am not getting any return calls or wood knocking. No footsteps or rocks landing near either. I know there is plenty of water because this is near a river, but they are either gone from this area now, or just not making any noise at all. I have yet to find a B/F track, but my friend Tim Harjo has one covered with an old wash tub back in Oklahoma. I have urged him to cast it right away. Maybe I will get to see the track if I make the Bigfoot Festival at Honobia, OK. on Sept. 30th.
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi xjay thanks for the reply please keep us posted here if any sasquatch activity happens in your state soon. thanks bill
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi everyone good morning i was just wondering if the bfro or other sasquatch organizations are getting a great amount possible sasquatch related activity from the midwestern states reported to them. illinois & arkansas should be the prime states for sasquatch sightings in the summer months. please give me your opinion. thanks bill green smile.gif
billgreen2005bigfoot
does the midwest states get more sasquatch activity than the northwest states or even eastern states in the summer and fall months please let me know. thanks bill smile.gif
xjay
Hello Bill, I don't have any details yet, but I just heard that there was a bigfoot sighting near Seneca, IL; which is about 50 miles or so from the area I have been checking out.
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi xjay wow please keep me posted on your investigation etc of the seneca, illinois sasquatch sighting location dont forget to bring camera to the area in case you find possible sasquatch evidence in that area. like i said before the creatures are moveing around becouse of the heatwaves im sure in my opinion there will be more sightings etc of sasquatch creatures in the midwest. thanks bill green smile.gif

Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster. biggrin.gif
I'm a college biology prof, botany and ecology.
Here is my record of possible activity in northeast KS; this has been reported previously to the BFRO, talking to Stan Courtney (a great guy, by the way):
1. late February, 2005, looking for early wildflowers at Perry Lake--found this old, large footprint (image available upon request) while looking at mosses, on Mad Mile trail that detours near Perry Lake;
2. Mid-March, Perry Lake--heard grunting, bushes moving wildly across park road near large pond on old horse trail--sounded like an asthmatic horse! Continued for about 5 mins, scaring my wife who made us leave the area immediately.
3. Late March, trails near Cedar Crest, Topeka--about 4:35pm, heard 3 whoops (sounds like Snoqualmish whoops), then 10 seconds later, train comes through--warning others?
4. early April, Cedar Crest ponds near road, found this very unusual footprint in mud next to frog pond (again, help with image please!)--the night before was near freezing, and the mud had to be as cold--the image shows a triangular foot, very distinct toes.
5. late April, windy day, late afternoon, walking down into woods, wife and I freeze when a huge branch/limb comes crashing down over to our left, but the nearby trees show no breakage--maybe thrown as a warning?

Since then, no activity has been noted. Perhaps they use the Kansas River as a migration route in the late fall and early spring?

If someone will email me, I'll attach the pics so they can post them here.
Thanks!

Vlandrum, I enjoyed your post. On this ranch in Oklahoma I began to notice a wood on wood knock that would shortly be followed by a distant train whistle. I would also notice the knock before the rancher would drive up in his truck. Just a guess on my part, but it seems one knock means somethings coming, etc.

Hey vlandrum welcome to this great forum!!!

Please keep us informed if you come across anything unusual...Hey billgreen can you post the photos you got from vlandrum...
Hey all midwesters...any activity in your area?

I am still busy packing my stuff...we have a studio apt but we have a ton of stuff...so I am busting chops trying not to procrastinate this time new_whistle.gif
Really excited to move back to Missouri...we are gonna leave los angeles by August 31st and drive cross country through Utah/Colorado and either Kansas or we will drop down south to new mexico and then to oklahoma and so on....I'll definitely be keeping my eyes wide open during this trip around areas with lots of sightings...when I get to Missouri and settle down I hope to do some research myself....
I do believe these things exists even though I havent seen one myself...further more...a couple of days ago I just remembered a story my distant relatives told us during their visit to LA from Vancouver....this was a couple years ago...their whole bunch of family went camping somewhere in some island in Vancouver...and they attributed this happening to ghosts(native american spirits in the forests)...but the more I think about it now I think they might have had a possible sasquatch sighting...as they told us that one of their brothers son(around 2-4 can't remember)...suddenly screamed and cried non stop and kept pointing to the edge of the woods...and during the whole camping trip he wouldnt look in that direction...and he wouldnt even sleep in the tent near the edge of the woods...so he and his mom ended up sleeping in the van...pretty creepy stuff...
MountainLady
Glad you made it to the forums, Vlan! Pretty interesting stuff you guys!

Hey.. sounds like you're going to be my neighbor BB.
Enjoy that trip and best of luck! MO is a beautiful state!
Blackbear
Yup Mountain Lady...my wife grew up in missouri...so we are moving back to be closer to her parents...she always wanted to visit Eureka Springs...so when we move back we will definitely find some time to visit AK...I wanna go down to Fouke...
Are you from Utah? I noticed you mentioned utah mountains under your avatar...I will be driving the 15 from Los angeles to UTAH...not sure yet if we will visit Salt Lake or just continue on to I-70...I am interested in Wasatch Mountains...I just saw Doug Seus on tv and he takes his Bears(Bart and Honey Bump) to Wasatch for vacation...
This will be a hectic move...I piled up a bunch of junk while out here in LA for 5 years... sad.gif lol...
MountainLady
Yeeep.. I'm from Utah and practically grew up in the Wasatch mountains (gorgeous and I sure do miss them).

My ex-father-in-law knew Doug. Nice guy from all that I've heard. Bart passed away a couple of years ago. sad.gif

If it makes you feel better, I moved from Utah to Arkansas with one 8-year-old child, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a cockatoo (with an attitude from hell). I cheated though.. I hired someone to drive all of my belongings to AR while I put myself, my son, and all my critters on a plane.. There was no way I was driving cross-country with that crew!! I may be crazy, but I'm not insane.

The drive will be worth it. There is some beautiful country along the way!

BB.. make sure and buy lots of mosquito spray before you get here! laugh.gif icon_stressed.gif

There are some excellent squatching areas in both AR and MO. wink.gif

Best wishes BB!
Blackbear
hi Mountainlady...thanks for the encouragement...wow you have lots of pets...did you have to pay extra for them on the plane?
I will be travelling with my wife...5yr old son...and cousin and my hamster(hope he wont get car sick sad.gif )
Bart is really awesome!!! I have the dvd of THE BEAR and watch it quite often...
hmm...I wonder whats Doug's view on Bigfoot?...I mean he spends so much time out in the country with his bears...I think bigfoot must have observed Doug be amazed by the bond a human and a Grizzly can have...
Yeah I definitely wanna research more on MOMO when I am there....
MountainLady
Yeah, had to pay extra. $50 for each pet plus they also had to be up to date on all vaccinations and have a health certificate from the vet the week of departure. Some airlines allow you to take a small pet (in a carrier) in the cabin of the plane so I was able to keep my bird with me.. caused quite a scene when we arrived in Little Rock with all those critters being unloaded. One guy sarcastically asked what else I had back there to which I replied, "They should be bringing my tiger along any minute." blink.gif
wink.gif He walked away.. hehehe

Hamsters are pretty hardy little guys. As long as he has plenty of water and doesn't get too hot, he should be just fine!

<sorry I hijacked your thread, Bill!> smile.gif
billgreen2005bigfoot

Blackbear
Hi vlandrum...thanks for the photos...they are really clear...seems like the big toe is a bit longer and more spread out away from the other toes...kinda like a gorillas toes...how deep were the impressions?

Hi billgreen how are you? any activity in your area? I remember reading your sighting a while back...are you still living in the same apt? You should keep an eye out on the area where you saw it...I think they are likely to cross the same path again sometime or another....
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi blackbear im great. so have you found any new sasquatch evidence etc in the forests lately. has there been a increase of sightings etc in your state becouse of the wicked weather. please keep me posted ok. bill green
Blackbear
Hi bill...nope I havent got time to out anywhere...been busy packing up...moving to Missouri...so when I settle down I will go do some searching around...I will be pretty close to the Missouri River when I live with my in-laws for the time being when we move there...
Right now in los angeles the closest "woods" I can find is Griffith Park...about 10mins away...thats where they filmed Sasquatch Hunters....
billgreen2005bigfoot
blackbear do you have any photos of missouri sasquatch hotspots that you can post in this thread. it would help me with my research. maybe try to look around griffith park in los angeles for sasquatch if you want too . please keep me posted. thanks bill green dont forget your camera. smile.gif

Hi Bill, I just got the newspaper article mailed to me about the BF sighting near Seneca. It took place last month East of Seneca in Grundy Co., which places it even a little closer to me in the next county. The article states the sighting is posted at the BFRO site.
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi xjay good afternoon thats great you got the newspaper clipping about the seneca bigfoot sighting. please feel free to post the article in this thread if you want too. also please keep me and everyone here posted if you go to the sighting location bring your camera etc. thanks bill smile.gif

Vlandrum,
If you notice the photos are too large in your post you can go back with a photo editor and resize them and edit your post to re-enter them.
Nice to see them.
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi blair tucker i totaly agree with the photos of the footprint look very interesting. maybe the moderators here can reduse the size of the photos if possible. thanks bill
Blackbear
Hi Bill I just bought a digital camera(4megapixel) a couple months ago...and I always take it with me where ever I go...I dont have any photos...but when I move to missouri and settle down I wanna go asking around and try to find out from folks there if they had seen anything unusual...all I know is that they always mentioned "Panther"...which I suspect is BF...nothing much in missouri so far...the latest report I read was a couple months back I think in Dent county or something...
vlandrum
Hi all, ok, resized should be here:
(this is after 5 attempts to put them here):

Oops, forgot to add:
one w/o my size 12 shoe, the other with.
The depth was about 3/4" on a very muddy pond bank.
As I had stated earlier, the night temperature before was about 35F or so (fairly cool for april here).
Thanks all, enjoying the discussion.

Vlandrum, Welcome to the forum new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

If I could make a segestion, if you take more photos, bring a sewing measuring tape with you. Makes it a lot easier for some of us to gage the size of the print.

You do not have to answer, but I am kind of curious what is the openion of your fellow professers about your interest in The Big Guy.
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi vlandrum again those are wonderful photos of the sasquatch footprint you found. did you go on any sasquatch research field trips this weekend with camera etc. has there been any sightings of sasquatch creatures in your state resently. thanks bill green smile.gif please keep me and everyone here posted
vlandrum
Howdy all, wow, such nice people here! smile.gif
Well, the tape measure is a good idea--keep in mind, most of the time I'm out there looking for flowers, not for the big guy (my wife rolls her eyes when i say "big guy").
I've been looking all summer, but nada so far. I'm beginning to believe that they might use the Kansas river (& others) as migration routes, so we get a few strays here and there through the midwest from maybe the Rockies?
I've only shown the photos to my wife, two colleagues (one who is a physiologist could not believe these were human footprints because there is no arch whatsoever), and y'all.
I set out two stealthcams in the general area (but off the trails) near ponds where I saw the prints, but only caught two curious teens, a family outing (human, unfortunately), and not much else (not even deer). But I'll set them out soon, hope lives eternal. biggrin.gif
Thanks again guys!
vlandrum
billkirbywofb
Vlandrum, The reason I segested the sewing measuring tape is because it can be rolled up in a roll one inch thick and the size of a silver dollar. Smaller if you cut the tape down to 24 inches. Something you can just stick in a pocket and forget about until needed.
Best wishes on your hunt for the rare flower and even more rare Big Guy. biggrin.gif
billgreen2005bigfoot
hi bill i totaly agree with you about the tape measure for the footprints. hi vlandrum yes please keep us posted ok for any other sasquatch activity. i hope your stealth cameras does pick up a possible sasquatch creature. thanks bill green smile.gif
