Hey I was looking through some Bigfoot phonos on the net and this popped up http://www.lorencoleman.com/myakka.html its the Myakka Ape in Florida I believe. I think its there Bigfoot not sure thought, I think it is real because the eyes are glowing and when you take a pic of an animal the eyes glow.

I can tell you, for what it's worth, it doesn't bear much likeness to the thing I saw in the High Sierra's a few decades back. That was much more evil-looking. These pics look more like an escaped exotic pet.

The problem I have with this photogragh is the edges around the outline of this creature is very sharp.....its almost like a card board cut out or something. unsure.gif

but if it were a cut out, wouldnt there be a shine from the flash on the paper?

i dont know what the heck that is, but it looks scary

My personal belief is that this is a feral orangutang. A released/escaped exotic pet, a released illegally smuggled animal, or (I feel most unlikely) a zoo escape.

Looks to me like some kind of larger escaped ape: orangutang or chimp most likley.

He's got a white beard like mine.

Handsome devil!

No, but they get awfully red on party day.

They shine when somebody points a camera at me and touches off a flash in my face.

No, that's not me in that picture, though. My shoulders aren't quite that hairy.

I vote Orangutang - released or escaped. I've seen orang's in just about the same position at zoos, and on TV programs.

Personally I have always thought that the Myakka Ape was a fake from the first time I seen it. It sure looks to much like a photo shop project to me. That or just maybe someone in some sort of costume.

Now on the main subject in the title,
I believe that if it went to a court of law and was turned over to a jury they would have to vote in favor of Bigfoot being real. I say that because if all of the evidence found was given to them then chances are they could not vote any other way. Between the Foot prints, DNA (from hair and feces), Patterson film, Sounds that have come up as unknown, Eye witnesses, Broken trees and other things done with trees that have been found, Big rocks moved or stacked and all of the other things over the years that have been found that could not be explained by any other means. With all of that it would be so much evidence for Bigfoot being real it would way out way Bigfoot being false.

I would say that more evidence has been found for Bigfoot being real then any other crypto animal but maybe the Tasmanian Tiger. Both I feel if it came down to them being decided in a court then I feel both would be proved as real animals.

Theres some boys in Minnesota that took a picture of a critter in a corn field that really resembles this thing, at least in the face. Biggest difference that I can remember from thier picture and this one seems to be the length of the hair. The critter in Minnesota had shorter hair, at least it looked that way. Its this picture that I immediatly thought of when they showed me thier photo.

I absolutely agree. I can't see someone taking the time to photoshop their way around all those palmetto fronds. A cut-out is unlikely due to the thing being in different positions in the two photos. An escapee is far more likely.

The only troubling thing is the color. Orangs are orange while this varmit is a grayish color. Could be the lighting...doubtful, though...

Also, a possible orangutan sighting--paticularly one with convincing photographic evidence--would probably generate substantial interest among scientists. These are rare animals, after all.

It's a puzzler, to be sure... blink.gif

In almost that same area last year, an escaped tiger brought down the full force of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Dept.

I can tell you that this is not even close to the creatures I have encountered .

To me this appears to be an orangutan.

I have moved to Fl. and in the county I live in there have been some BF sightings ,I hunt and fish a lot so I will be on the alert .If i have any encounters I will keep ya posted but do not have any high expectations

When a flash is used at night the resulting image can sometimes look very two dimensional as the flash tends to flatten everything with this bright beam. And where the edges of a subject are they will be very defined as the light falls off the subject abruptly. What gives a subject a 3 dimensional quality and depth is shading and shadow...which flash pretty much obliterates. Also the colors of an image will fluctuate depending on the type of film used and age of the film etc. And also how the negative is printed if this was printed from a negative...

If you do an image search on Yahoo for "Myakka Ape" you get all sorts of stuff.

Honest question: would this affect other objects in the photograph? Everything else seems to be it's natural color.

I'm a lousy photographer. So some of the photos I've taken of Mrs. Huntster and the kids have their eyes shining back a bright red.

In fact, the photo of me in this forum somewhere when I was sitting next to the Christmas tree came out with my eyes red. My daughter fixed it on the computer.

I know it has something to do with the flash, but I don't know how to stop doing it.

One of the big-name skeptics on a skeptic site claimed that an orangutan would have much longer arms than this Myakka critter, and posted a photo to back himself up. It seemed and seems like a strong point.
BigMonkeyMan
I think this is someone in a very well constructed costume. It does not fit the description for a bigfoot or an orangatang. This thing does not appear to be over 5 or 6 feet tall...the color is most definately black with some gray...and the arms appear to be very skinny. Since none of these things fit the decription of bigfoot or an orang my only conclusion is a man in a suit.

I was suspicious of the "letter" that was delivered to the cops.
Too danged anonymous if you wanted somebody to come get it.... Location given ?
NONE !

Closer examination reveals some "floating", un-attached palmetto fronds .....
Cropped ?
Looks like it.

Too bad....
that's the game-cam shot I'm waiting on !!!

One day.....
